23.01.2022 Congratulations to our Year 7 TheatreSports team who competed in their first competition last night. The girls did an incredible job in this very challenging competition.

20.01.2022 Happy Halloween! Well done to the Prefects and Leadership Coordinators for organising a special day for the school today

18.01.2022 A huge thank you to Demi from Bright Girl Health, who recently visited our school to run a Wellbeing seminar with our Year 7 female students. We look forward to having you join us again next year.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGK0kOcmvvI&feature=youtu.be

17.01.2022 Our senior PDHPE students recently had the opportunity to conduct a Zoom interview with dual Olympian and former Matilda, Heather Garriock. The interview focused on sport psychology which is the current focus of our Year 12 course. Heather made her debut for Australia at just 16 years of age and went on to represent her country in 130 games, competing in two Olympic Games and two world cups. She has also had a successful coaching career and was recently named the CEO of Taekw...ondo Australia Heather was able to share a wealth of knowledge with our students surrounding sport psychology and the importance of setting goals and staying motivated, as well as how to deal with stress and anxiety in high pressure situations. We would like to thank Heather for taking the time to provide our students with such invaluable advice at this crucial point in their education

14.01.2022 Our Year 11 PDHPE students finished up the preliminary course last term with some practical workshops in basic tumbling and group stunting. Students demonstrated excellent team work and had many laughs during the process..... now back from holidays and ready to tackle the HSC course! Hope everyone had a restful break

05.01.2022 A huge thank you to Ruth from Esteem Designz + the Choose REAL campaign for running a wonderful workshop with our Year 9 girls earlier in Term 3... the workshop focused on positive identity, body image and building resilience. Students had a really positive experience and some of the feedback is listed below: I became thankful for the things that are happening in my life. ChooseREAL made me feel better about myself and realised that I am my own worst critic, but I can chan...ge that. I feel more confident in myself. I learnt that I can change the way I look at myself. I am strong and beautiful! I feel lighter. I learnt that I can be my biggest friend. I am loved and worth it! I feel more confident with myself and happy. I learnt not to let other’s opinions stop me from being myself. We look forward to having Ruth return again next year to provide positive workshops to our students and help enhance wellbeing at GHS. Thank you Ruth

05.01.2022 Adriel Sukumar (Year 12 Music 2 + Music Extension) had an amazing experience at Trackdown Studios (Moore Park). His fanfare was professionally recorded by members of the AYO (Australia Youth Orchestra). Here are some pics from the day...we can't wait to hear more about it :)

04.01.2022 Last term a very pregnant stray tabby cat was rescued from the school ag plot and put into foster care. The cat, we named Hope, gave birth to 4 kittens that some students in Year 9 named Joy, Milo, Leo and Dom. Mum and kittens are doing well and will be ready for adoption to their purrfect furrever homes. The school will donate $500 to the Animal Welfare League Western Suburbs Branch who looked after this little feline family as a small token of our immense appreciation.. A B...IG thank you also to everyone at the school who contributed to this pawsome happy ending including all the staff and students who have supported the fund raising efforts of the animal welfare team. This is all made possible because of you - thank you all! PS if you would like to adopt a kitten you may be able to do so by contacting Animal Welfare League Western Suburbs Branch www.awlnsw.com.au western-suburbs See more

02.01.2022 All this term students in Year 8 Visual Arts have been exploring South American & Mexican mythology and culture. Students were to create a ceramic tile that depicted a particular mythical creature and other cultural symbols. Here are some of the many finished tiles that our very talent year 8 students have created.
