22.01.2022 SEVERE WEATHER WARNING The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING in parts of the Central region (including the Macedon Ranges). Heavy rainfall may develop over parts of western victoria from THIS AFTERNOON, extending slowly east into TUESDAY MORNING. ... Widespread rainfall totals from this evening through to Tuesday afternoon of around 20-40mm are expected with localised falls of 60-80mm possible. Thunderstorms are possible overnight further enhancing rainfall totals and rainfall rates. The rain is expected to ease by Tuesday evening. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: Move vehicles under cover or away from trees Stay inside and away from windows Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony (includes trampolines, outdoor furniture and umbrellas) If you are outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Throughout 2020, our families and friends have stood by us through deployments, the busy bushfire season, large storm events and the COVID-19 pandemic.... This weekend we recognise the incredible support our friends and families provide us. Because of them, we can respond to emergencies in the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 02.01.2022 We spent the day out at Bolobek in Macedon with North West RSU, managing parking for Bolobek’s open garden event. Thanks to everyone who stopped to have a chat. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow

01.01.2022 With forecasts of above-average rainfall and possible flooding this spring due to La Niña systems across Victoria, our training this week has focused on flooding. On Monday and Wednesday night crews set up a pump system in the Gisborne Botanic Gardens. Water was pumped out and back into Jacksons Creek to simulate a flooding scenario.
