24.01.2022 Dear students and parents, We would like to reassure all of our students and their families that we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation ...and will continue to observe the recommended precautions put forward by government health authorities. Whilst these directives are constantly evolving, we can confirm that our regular GKR Karate classes and monthly gradings will continue as normal unless otherwise advised. That said, the wellbeing of the student body is our highest priority and we will be implementing a number of temporary strategies in our dojos for the next 4 weeks to create the safest possible environment for training. 21.01.2022 Good afternoon, due to a shuffling of Sensei’s, the tournament class that’s runs at 6:30pm will shift to the Stretton dojo (Stretton college, Junior campus off Gowan rd) to join the normal class from 7pm. We apologize but I’m sure you’ll still have a good session.

07.01.2022 Attention to all Australian students and instructors: Id like to update you all on a recent decision weve made about our tournament schedule for the remainder... of 2020. Given the ongoing health concerns and the likely hesitation many people may have to travel as a result of the Coronavirus situation, we have decided not to hold a GKR Karate Australian Titles in 2020. As you know, it has been a tradition of GKRs for the last 20+ years to hold a National tournament at the end of each year, but the probable lack of interstate entries would have greatly diminished its national status. What we will do instead is push our State Titles back to November (instead of September) and these will become the major end-of-year event on the GKR competition calendar in 2020. This will give all regions the chance to hold some local tournaments in September/October in the lead up to the November State Champs. Your Regional Instructor will keep you updated regarding this in the coming weeks. Thank you for your understanding.

05.01.2022 Good afternoon R10 Students and Parents, A recent press release went out this morning regarding some new restrictions within the Brisbane area. These restrictio...ns refer to Gatherings in private homes and public spaces, however these limits do not apply to businesses operating under a COVID Safe Plan. GKR operates under a Covid safe plan and is able to continue to operate as normal. To continue to assist us to operate within our Covid Plan a reminder of the following:- 1. Keep social distancing of 1.5m 2. If you suspect you have any symptoms stay home and get tested. 3. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water or use hand sanitizer frequently. 4. 04.01.2022 Life has thrown us a temporary curve ball, but that doesn't mean our health, fitness, self-defence skills or enjoyment of karate has to end. During this peculi...ar period, GKR Karate is bringing the dojo to you. Online classes for all grades and ages, covering all facets of training; and all classes are designed with limited space in mind. There is no reason why your skills and fitness can't continue to improve right now. It just requires a tiny bit of self-discipline on your part to get the ball rolling. And the beauty of self-discipline, is its only difficult for a few minutes, because after this, motivation to keep going kicks in.
