23.01.2022 Hi guys. I just received a call from the principal at Newbridge Heights public school and there was a confirmed case of Covid on the school grounds last Friday 10.07.2020, so the school suggests we close the class tomorrow 18.07.2020 until they receive directions from the Department of Education. Ill let you know whats happening about Tuesday, but at this stage its all okay for that date. Any further developments Ill let you know. Regards Senseis Robert and Jenny.

Stay tuned to this page and check your inbox for any email updates. Not long to go now see you soon!

18.01.2022 Hi all School has given the all clear for hall use. Class is back to normal from tonight.

17.01.2022 Hi everyone It’s Halloween this Saturday and although it’s not a big thing in Australia, I thought it would be a chance to dress up and have some fun. Scary outfits, book week costumes, whatever you want. We will be doing Karate so make sure it’s practical so we can kick or do Kata. Let’s have a great class, I’ll bring some lollies if anyone wants to bring anything else for after class.

15.01.2022 Dear students and parents, We would like to reassure all of our students and their families that we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and will continue to observe the recommended precautions put forward by government health authorities. Whilst these directives are constantly evolving, we can confirm that our regular GKR Karate classes and monthly gradings will continue as normal unless otherwise advised. That said, the wellbeing of the student body i...s our highest priority and we will be implementing a number of temporary strategies in our dojos for the next 4 weeks to create the safest possible environment for training. These include: Instructors will spread students out and line them up in such a way as to utilise all the space in the dojo. This will ensure a greater physical distance between each student. We will NOT conduct any close-quarter partner exercises during this time, including kumite ie: we will focus more on kata, kihon, combination drills and footwork training. There will be a temporary halt on the use of kick shields or focus mitts, and instructors will be asking students not to Kiai in class during this 4 week period. We will re-assess the need for these measures at the end of the 4 week period and will be guided by government directives. In addition, there are several basic practises related to personal hygiene that all students can be observing in the meantime: Do not share drink bottles or towels with other students Refrain from shaking hands with others at class. Bowing is safe, and is excellent etiquette If you must cough or sneeze, please do so into your Mawashi Empi (your bent arm) Wash your hands well both before and after class If youre feeling unwell then stay home and rest. Well see you again soon. If youve been exposed to the virus, please follow the quarantine conditions set out by health authorities. We are hopeful that the observance of these practises will allow students to maintain their regular training patterns with greater confidence over the coming weeks. If there are changes to any of our scheduled classes or events in your area, then these announcements will be made on your regions Facebook page and at class via your branch instructor. To avoid misinformation about the virus, we suggest visiting the following trustworthy source https://www.health.gov.au/

15.01.2022 Hi all I hope you are well and keeping safe from this virus. Im missing my karate family atm. Not training together does put a dampener on my training days but at least we can train together online. Most families are opting to join our online dojo course to keep up training. You dont need much space and from some of the photo Ive received, some are working in a space no bigger than a bathroom. Its cheaper than an individual weekly class fee and is available for the whole... family. Come join me and let me know what you think. If you need help, give me a call or message me. Stay healthy and excel use. Regards Sensei Robert Zammit https://onlinedojo.gkrkarate.com/store78476au

14.01.2022 Not Long Now and well be back training.

13.01.2022 Life has thrown us a temporary curve ball, but that doesn't mean our health, fitness, self-defence skills or enjoyment of karate has to end. During this peculi...ar period, GKR Karate is bringing the dojo to you. Online classes for all grades and ages, covering all facets of training; and all classes are designed with limited space in mind. There is no reason why your skills and fitness can't continue to improve right now. It just requires a tiny bit of self-discipline on your part to get the ball rolling. And the beauty of self-discipline, is its only difficult for a few minutes, because after this, motivation to keep going kicks in.

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, Its here and ready for you. If you have any karate questions, correct stances, kata, techniques, feel free to message me and Ill get back to you via the GKRKarateRegion21Australia Facebook page... https://onlinedojo.gkrkarate.com/store78476au

08.01.2022 Hi Champions. There will be no class on Tuesday. The Hall is been used by the school. Look alternative classes or talk to me.

07.01.2022 What a great class this week. You all trained so hard, keep up the hard work and you will be rewarded.

06.01.2022 Hi all and Happy new year. With the current Covid19 outbreak, be assured that we are still maintaining our covid safety policy with regard to training distancing and class number restrictions. Our classes will start back on the 4th of January for the most part and numbers will be restricted to 30 per class. We have changed the timetable slightly as attached. These changes should help to restrict the number of students training in each class as well as allowing instructors ...to focus a little more on students at their grade level. Although masks are not required for our industry, I would like all parents and students to wear a mask when entering the school grounds. Once students have lined up, their masks can be removed whilst training. During any breaks and at the end of class, students will be required to wear masks again. Regards Sensei Robert See more

06.01.2022 Great class this week.

05.01.2022 Hi Champions. We are still Training as normal today, but the classes have been modified because of Covid -19 virus. If you or child is sick pls dont come to class. There will be no Sparring, no close contact moves or grappling allowed. A 1.5 m distance between students will be maintained. If you have to Sneeze or cough, then do so into your elbow. ... We will doing Kata and basic technics today. Please came and have a great class in these unusual times. If your child doesnt observe these rules. I will asking them to leave and you will need to take your child home. In the best interest of all. Stay Safe and looking forward to see at training. Sensei Mark.

05.01.2022 Hi Champions. Shihan Anthony will coming to Georges Hall Dojo this Thursday 7.30 to 9.30. All GKR students from Blue belt and above are welcome to come and train with Shihan.

05.01.2022 Hi parents. Just a quick note of what’s happening in class at the moment. With the covid19 restriction on social distancing and the shorter classes, we are finding that time is of the essence. ... When 12 students want to go to the toilet at the same time, we find our quick drink break of 1 min turning into a 10 min break. We can not have this, it is not fair on the others of the class when we have to accompany the toilet going students and leave the others to just wait around. Can we ask that all students go to the toilet at home or get to class 20 mins before and use the toilet then. We know that there are sometimes emergencies but they are the exceptions. Thank you for your help on this. Regards Robert.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, Yes we will be training together soon!
