Ive been fortunate enough to train with and under Shihan many times over the years and I always look forward to the karate session that he teaches at our Managers Conferences.... Over the years there have been Instructors who have left inside me a burning desire to learn and improve after training in their class. Shihan is one of those amazing people. He will motivate every muscle in your body and leave you wanting more and more and more. 18.01.2022 Great class last night and good to see how many students turned up to train. We started class with going through first and Second kata as a group. The lower grade students did really well considering most had never done first and second kata. Then we broke the class up and workshopped our grade kata. We had some gradings in class last night congratulations goes to... Grant and Curtis who graded to their 9th Kyu. Also had some Birthdays over the last week Riley Kennedy turned 15 Cairus Chappell turned 8 Happy Birthday Boys Black belt of the week went to Arnold for his great effort. 17.01.2022 What an awesome night at Coomera Rivers dojo. We had a grading on the weekend Congratulations to the following students Jett Otoole Roman... Winter Ash Arnold Well done, now time to work on your next kata. First we started with a warm up by Carolyn in her new green belt. Then we did some fitness drills working on our core. Next we worked on front kick and round kick in stages. Lastly we worked on first kata. Yes you herd right first kata but we started at different times which really messed with the brain. Then we did it with our eyes closed which is a good exercise to work on knowing where you feet are. 16.01.2022 Well I thought it was going to a small class tonight but our regular dedicated students walked through the dojo doors. We started with a good warm . Push ups, star jumps and crunches whyll students did laps of the hall . Then we split the class. Lower grades went with Sensei Sarah and worked on basics/ principles of movement. Higher grades worked with me on higher grade stances and strikes.... Definitely going to be doing more work in this area higher grades so your karate will improve. Lastly we has three gradings in class tonight. Grading to their 9th Kyu Congratulations goes to Noah, Amelia and Orlando Well done and you have just completed your first of many gradings on your karate Journey. Have a great week. 10.01.2022 Great class last night. Good to see the newer students enjoying their karate. Sensei Sarah took the class through footwork last night. She worked on the principles of being balance/grounded through your movements. Also spoke about sparring and the placement off your feet when attacking or defending. Lastly we looked at long forward stance and making sure that the back foot is pointing in the direction your head so it will help with reach and hip rotation.... Congratulations to all that turned up last night , you all trained really well. Shoutout to all students pre COVID who havent been training would love see you back in the dojo. Well done Then we blew the cobwebs out with a 15 lap warm up which you all did an awesome job. Next we went through kata and lastly we worked on foot work.
