22.01.2022 A hopefully humorous reminder that our first post lockdown Grading is next Sunday the 9th of August in our previous location at the Bokarina Dojo. If your Sense...i has given you a training plan and the authorisation to attend that is great news, however if they have not then its ok to ask what is required of yourself and most importantly listen to your Sensei and follow their advice so you can improve what is needed. Sensei Deb Howell, Sensei Dylan Brennan and myself will be running Grading preparation classes for our Kids Club students at Bokarina Dojo this Saturday at 9am and this Tuesday at 4pm in the Caloundra West Dojo as well. These are essential opportunities for our young students to help them gain confidence and important feedback so they can be rewarded for their hard work and dedication during the challenging past few months. 20.01.2022 GRADING DAY TOMORROW!!! Its certainly very exciting to be able to run our first regional Grading since March and if you have been given the authorisation from ...your Sensei then please note the following important points. - Be early please to avoid any minor delays and particularly if you havent been to the Bokarina Dojo before as its tricky to find. If you aim to be there at 9:30am it gives you enough time to park, walk, get changed, check in, warm up and be ready for the 10am start. - Please wear full Gi which includes jacket with a badge sewn or pinned on as you will be asked this as you check in and badges are for sale there as well. Training Tees are only an option for classes and are not to be worn at Gradings. - Remember to bring your own full water bottle as no access to drink fountains is allowed for the time being. - Use the hand sanitizer stations as you enter, as you leave and at every drink break during the Grading please. - Please remember to be mindful of your social distance at all times when entering and leaving the Dojo, as well as when queuing up to check in, also when families are seated together and when taking photos afterwards too. - There will be no partner work or Sparring for this Grading as per our current Covid Safe Plan in all of our classes. - If you or a family member you live with are feeling unwell then contact Sensei Andrew Howell on 0407695005 beforehand and stay home to ensure that yourself and others stay healthy. - Most importantly enjoy the experience and let it be a reminder of your perseverance during this challenging time in history. 19.01.2022 REGIONAL KATA TOURNAMENT FINALLY OVERCOMES COVID-19 SHUTDOWN!!! Such a special experience to have the Tournament that we planned to hold in March happ...en today!!! It was certainly a morning full of smiles, camaraderie, sportsmanship, awesome Karate and LOTS of medals. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of our dedicated Instructors and Officials who made the day the AWESOME success that it was for everyone involved. It was our first time running this style of Kata Round Robin Tournament and it was great to see how much the competitors and judges enjoyed the minimum 3 rounds per entrant as it made for some very close decisions in the medal tally. Well done to all of our competitors as the standard was solid across all divisions and particularly amongst our younger first timers and our Junior Team Kata entrants who were AWESOME in their focus and encouragement of one another. 15.01.2022 YAAAAAAHOOOOO!!!! A HUUUGGGEEE CONGRATULATIONS to all of our students who successfully achieved their next belt level at our Regional Grading. It was a w...arm morning in the Dojo and every Karateka certainly stood up to the challenge to do themselves, their families and their Sensei very proud indeed. An extra well done to our 22 new Yellow Belts who showed that they are made of tough stuff and are on the right path to Black Belt. Also a special mention to Remy and Elliot who set a high standard for all and were outstanding examples of what it truly takes to Grade to 1st Kyu Brown Belt. Thank you to our dedicated and passionate Instructor Team for their encouragement and guidance leading up to the day and for their phenomenal teamwork to ensure the Grading was a great experience for all students and their families. Please take note o...f the following details so that your day can be the best it can. Aim to be there to check in at 9:30am as the school has part of the car park closed due to some construction work there and it may take you an extra 5 minutes to walk. When checking in at the admin desk please hold off all equipment purchases and membership enquiries to after the Grading has started or until the end to avoid unnecessary delays. Please ensure you wear your full uniform and this also includes a badge on your jacket otherwise you will be asked to purchase one and pin it on. If you have any jewellery please remove it or cover it with appropriate tape for your safety. As in any class please bring your own filled water bottle. If you haven’t been to the Kawana Dojo before allow extra time to find the entry and follow others to the hall. They inspire me to push to points I never thought I could reach. My Sensei is my coach. They help me through the toughest times in my journey. My Sensei is my drill sergeant. They keep me in line, on task to achieve my goals. My Sensei is my biggest fan. They believe in me when I struggle to believe in myself. My Sensei teaches me integrity, discipline, and the highest standards of personal character. My Sensei teaches me to fail, and they teach me to stand back up again, to never give up. My Sensei teaches me to show respect and courtesy to all who walk this earth. My Sensei teaches me to be calm and in control, responsible always for my behaviour. My Sensei teaches me to be faithful and sincere in all that I do. My Sensei doesn’t just teach me karate. My Sensei prepares me for life.

It's been a privilege to lead you, to grow with you, to sweat with you and laugh with you for another year! A big congratulations is due for a couple of outstanding students, firstly Enzo , who graded to his yellow belt on Sunday! And also Jett, who achieved his 3rd kyu brown belt. Both boys performed well and made us all proud! One of the truly great benefits of leading a class is seeing young kids, like these two, grow and develop over time into fine outstanding adults! These can be used for new Membership or for existing students to cover registration and/or training fees with options for Unlimited Training Pass credit or for Training Pass stickers. 08.01.2022 BREAKING KARATE NEWS!!! From tonight the 7:15-8:15pm Kata Class at the Bokarina Dojo will be changed to the Kata and Tournament Class. As we are planning a ...regional Tournament at the end of next month and wanted to give all students the opportunity to gain vital preparation and guidance. Sensei Scott Lauder will continue his fantastic work with the Kata Class on one half of the Dojo and Sensei Carly Deakin will teach the Tournament Class on the other side to help students gain confidence and understanding of what is expected at Tournaments. This is open to all levels from Yellow Belt and above and is recommended for new, existing and slightly rusty Tournament competitors of all ages and skill levels. See more

GKR Karate Region 24 Sunshine Coast, Australia h...as pledged to donate $5 for every new enrolment to Inclusive Kids and we are also collecting donations at our stall in Kawana Shoppingworld until 19th December! Beefy's - Australia's Best Pies is also helping out by donating free pie and coffee vouchers for every new enrolment So please help us to raise as much money as we can before Christmas , by either enrolling into our classes or drop some spare change into the box!

02.01.2022 BREAKING KARATE NEWS!!! From THIS WEDNESDAY ONWARDS classes return at the Sunshine Beach, Morayfield and Dakabin Dojos!!! As we have now been given perm...ission from those schools to resume teaching there from the 1st of July. We will also have other locations returning over the next 2 weeks and the Bokarina, Coolum and Gympie Dojos will start again on the 13th of July in line with the first day of Term 3. Thank you to our parents and students for their patience and support as it has meant a lot to our club and especially our Instructors who cant wait to see everyone and their big smiles at class this week! Each and every student should be extremely proud of their achievement as it came with the extra challenge of our classes being on hold for a few weeks. Please plan to arrive at 9:30 for a 10am start as... the check in process can take a few minutes. 2. Please wear your full uniform as Training Tees are only for regular classes. 3. Also please remember to have your badge sewn or pinned on or you will have to purchase one at the start. 4. Bring your own water as we can’t use the drink fountains. 5. Sleep well, eat a good breakfast and remember that your Sensei believes in you otherwise you wouldn’t be invited to attend. 6. Look forward to the challenge and enjoy the experience from the beginning to the end. See more
