Our classes can resume as of NOV 9 and here is some footage of our new full time dojo in Greensborough This dojo is located at 54-56 Main Street, opposite Greensborough plaza. Perfect for parents to drop off the kids at karate then head across to the plaza. ... Our timetables will be out on Monday. Stay tuned

20.01.2022 Exciting news! We have secured our latest full time venue. This Dojo is located at 126 Canterbury Road, Heathmont. It has 2 separate training areas, male and female change rooms, reception area and plenty of street parking. ... This will see a lot of the nearby Dojo’s merging into the full time centre. We will offer 7 days a week of training and 3 to 4 classes available daily. In training area will be complete with mats and mirrors. We will release some more details in coming weeks. As soon as restrictions are lifted in Melbourne we will be open for training
19.01.2022 Only a couple of days from reopening classes in Melbourne. The full time dojo’s are getting close to being ready for Monday
19.01.2022 Wow, what a year! We started the year with the excitement of our first full time dojo opening in Epping in March, we only had a week or two of training in before lockdown for the next 4 months. Classes then moved online along with a lot of promoting for the online dojo. (See clip ) https://youtu.be/nHEoYY0waKs... Maybe a few bloopers along the way https://youtu.be/ifNhX_xA7Bg https://youtu.be/fXzoDryAJLc During lockdown we also got to host the first karate isolation tournament https://youtu.be/QYg4WjYwsD4 (Please note this was made for a few laughs - we understand the significance of how hard COVID hit us all) We reopened for 2.5 weeks in June, only to back online again until November 9. The year finished with some silver lining with the opening of 4 more full time locations- Heathmont, Greensborough, Reservoir and Templestowe Lower. I want to thank the instructors for all their commitment this year. They stayed committed to their own training and did whatever they could to keep their students focused on continuing their training. The Sensei’s also went above and beyond in helping set up the full time venues. It could not have been done without them. Thank you also to Kancho and Shihan who fully supported the opening of our 5 full time dojo’s. Lastly thank you to all the students who stuck by us during the difficult year and also welcome to all the new members who joined the GKR family. To the students we lost this year, we hope you will find your way back to us especially in the new and improved dojo’s. Wishing everyone a wonderful celebration tonight and the best wishes for you all in 2021!

15.01.2022 We are excited to announce the re-opening of our classes from Thursday February 18th as per the Premier's announcement on the lifting of the lockdown. We require all students and spectators that are 13yo+ to wear a face mask inside the dojo. Students may take off their mask to during training. We also ask everyone to adhere to social distancing requirements. As a club we will be following our Covid safe plan.... We look forward to having you back :)

12.01.2022 Dear students, As of 11:59pm tonight our classes will be closed for 5 days due to the lockdown in Victoria. Unfortunately, this means Sundays grading will no longer run and at this stage we are rescheduling it for Sunday February 21st.... Please note classes will run as normal tonight with the exception of Reservoir which will not run. All things going well our classes will resume on Thursday February 18th. Thanks for your understanding, safe safe.

08.01.2022 Dear GKR students and families, 2020 has been an extraordinary year, filled with many unexpected twists and turns. We thank you for your patience as our classes... closed and openedand closed again in various parts of the world. Despite the chaos, the events of this year have no doubt made us more resilient and reminded us not to take our good health for granted. Our thoughts are with those who have been adversely affected by the events of this year and we thank everyone who has been working on the frontlines providing health care or other essential services throughout the most difficult times. On behalf of everyone at GKR Karate, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and Happy New Year. Our first day back for classes next year is January the 4th. Please check with your local dojo for reopening dates. We look forward to seeing you in 2021!

04.01.2022 Congratulations to Sensei Vicki Zingiris and Sensei Louise Oosthuizen on a surprise black belt grading last night. Both Vicki and Louise have been training exceptionally hard to achieve this goal. Despite the challenges COVID presented this year, both Sensei’s showed commitment to their progress. ... This was also the first two to grade to their black belt in our new Heathmont Prime Dojo Close to 30 high grades worked extremely hard in the challenging conditions last night. Well done to everyone and an extra special well done to our newest black belts
