25.01.2022 Our Ninja's last night were on fire. Learning not to sound like elephants and more like mice when transitioning in long stance. That took a bit of time but they nailed it in the end. Then putting together a kick punch combination whilst practicing their long stance was awesome too. The Ninja's were little superhero's. (Plus they love a good selfie)

19.01.2022 A massive congratulations to one of our Ninja's, Andy, on his grading to 9th kyu tonight in class. Well done Andy, yellow belt grading is not far away.

16.01.2022 We have Nice Ninja's and then we have Naughty Ninja's...both as awesome as the other. This week we welcomed Isabella and Nicole to our Kids Corner, and they were amazing! We look forward to some more awesome karate training next week.

16.01.2022 Wow! What a sensational effort from everyone tonight during our practice grading! Whilst the senior belts were put through their paces doing combinations the 10th - 8th kyus were working on their basics. The end of the night saw the following people grade to their next level:... 9th kyu Tatiana Costin Ellen Yarred Mariana Yarred Nicole Yarred Isabella Yarred 7th kyu ho Alex North Lyndal North Annika De Vries Kinnie De Vries. Congratulations to everyone on a great evening of karate.

15.01.2022 It looks like a simple circuit to warm up but it's way more than that. It improves the children's jumping, hopping, balance, co-ordination, stances, strength and endurance which are all essential cornerstones to our martial arts practice. It also builds confidence in their own physical abilities. Our Kids Corner ninjas rocked this circuit tonight. If you know of any children who may benefit from joining our class, please let us know as we would love to have them come along.

14.01.2022 Another fantastic night at Riverside Dojo. We had lots of fun, activity and built up a good sweat. Sensei Ryan reckons if you've all got sore tummy muscles tomorrow...It's not his fault. Great job tonight everyone.

14.01.2022 Our very first kata class was fantastic! We covered some punching principles, turns using hip engagement and propulsion through the back leg before breaking into kata groups. Each group had it's own Sensei to teach, correct and modify each student. To top it off, young Chace was successful in grading to his 9th kyu. What an awesome Thursday!... (Big thanks to Mandy for the photos)

13.01.2022 Wow! What a night we've had. A massive thank you to Sensei Nathan for coming and taking everyone for a self defence workshop. It was sensational to see everyone working through some of the techniques he taught. Thanks also to Christine for coming through from Devonport Dojo and joining us for training. We hope you enjoyed your visit and hope you come back very soon.

11.01.2022 It might be a long weekend this Monday but the great news is...karate class is still on! Woo hoo. There is no better way to finish off the weekend and start your week. So make sure you pull on your gi, tie your belt and come on in. We can't wait to see you.

11.01.2022 What an exciting night we had at Riverside last night. The little kids got to train with the big kids and we welcomed Theo into our class with his grand dad, Sensei Eddie. Everyone did such a great job with their kick training. Just a reminder that kata class starts this Thursday at 5:30pm.

11.01.2022 A bit of crescent kick practice, with Sensei Emma, for our senior belts during kata training tonight. Clara even managed to kick herself . Our junior belts continued to work on the front kick specific to their kata and improved out of sight! If you want to refine or learn your kata's come along and join in the fun. We would love to help you.

10.01.2022 Super Self-defence Well Riverside, have we got a treat for you! Next Monday night we have a guest instructor coming to teach in our first class and he'll be hanging around to particpate in our second class. Sensei Nathan Jacobs is one of our instructors from Hobart and he has accepted our invitation to attend next Monday and teach self-defence to our Riverside students. ... Sensei Nathan has a keen interest in teaching effective self-defence techniques to people of all ages. We encourage all our students to attend this not to be missed class.

04.01.2022 Another Monday, another funday at Riverside Dojo.

01.01.2022 Another amazing training tonight from everyone. In our first class the ninjas worked hard continuing to learn first kata. Our adults did some partner work on blocking techniques followed by kata work shopping. In the second class our senior members worked on kumite drills and progressing their kata development. Remember to do your at home practice and we'll see everyone next week.
