25.01.2022 Good info on beating the heat. Stay cool!

25.01.2022 We are working day and night to make sure we are here to look after our community in the long run! Every day is bringing new challenges and changes. We appreciate everyones positivity, patience and encouragement. We are: - Continuing to screen patients over the phone, in person, via Hotdoc for COVID-19 risk factors. Ensure you answer all screening questions to the best of your knowledge. If you have any COVID-19 or other respiratory/cold/flu symptoms, we need to know. - Imp...lementing social distancing practices including: - Reducing the amount of people visiting our clinic, - Implementing a three person in the consult room practice (one doctor, one patient, one support person or child), - Scheduling as many Telehealth consults as possible - Asking visitors to sit at least 1.5 metres away from each other/family group in the consult room, - Asking visitors to wait in cars or outdoors. Consults are beginning to transition to having a Doctor calling you on your mobile phone to start your visit. - Accepting tap card payments only in the clinic or direct deposits into our account. We are not accepting cash payments. - Placing signs, physical barriers where needed to keep us all at the recommended distance. See more

25.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day from Gippsnip! If youre stuck for a gift idea...we have one for you.

24.01.2022 Hi All, A COVID-19 update 14/7/2020 We continue to require all visitors to call the clinic upon arrival for screening and instructions. This includes picking up scripts, referrals, pathology, etc. Patients are advised of this at time of booking and via three signs that are displayed at the car park and building entrance.... The front door is now locked and will be remotely opened by reception staff. Telephone consultations are the default appointment type. If you need an in-person appointment please call the clinic on 5622 0444. All patients requiring an in-person consultation/attending the clinic must wear a facemask. To ease pressure on our own limited mask supply it would be much appreciated if patients source their own facemask. For the safety of our patients and our staff if you have a cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, contact with COVID-19 positive or suspected person we are available to assist mainly via telephone consultation. If you need an examination your doctor will advise on how best to proceed. If you are experiencing symptoms, free testing is highly encouraged at the Warragul Respiratory Clinic book an appointment online at hotdoc.com.au. For any questions please call us rather than commenting on this post. This protects your privacy and allows us to handle queries in a timely manner. For detailed information on COVID-19 please visit https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus.

24.01.2022 Thank you to all of our patients for supporting our recent transition to telehealth as our main format for providing care during the COVID-19 pandemic. This change will allow us to continue to care for our community, whilst making it safer for patients and our staff when they do need to come into the clinic. Your co-operation has been greatly appreciated Now, more than ever, it is important that we actively manage our health to reduce the risk of illness or disease. The fol...lowing services are all included in telehealth consultations with your GP: Preventative care Chronic disease management (including care plans) and Mental health (including care plans) These telehealth consultations will be Bulk Billed. (Normal billing remains in place for face to face consultations) Prescriptions, radiology/pathology requests and referrals can be collected quickly from reception. Immunisations are still being administered in the clinic. Please book online by visiting HotDoc, or call our reception team on (03) 5622 0444 if you need to schedule a face to face appointment, or if you have any questions. (Please note: We are still awaiting our flu vaccine delivery at this time stay tuned for an announcement on this page!)

23.01.2022 Gladstone Street Medical Clinic is practicing social distancing to protect our patients and staff. When in the waiting room, please distance yourself/family group 1.5 metres away from others. Also, please follow signs and floor markings to remain back from the Reception desk while checking in/checking out. It may be against the recommendations to sit together, but we can all work together to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

22.01.2022 Gladstone Street Medical Clinic is proud to a sponsor of the Ellinbank Twilight Sports. Come on out for a great evening on the 28th of February 2020. The organisers do a wonderful job delivering this event.

22.01.2022 FYI - We will be closed Tuesday 3 November 2020 for the Melbourne Cup public holiday. After hours GP available on 5622 0444. In case of emergency, call 000 or report to your nearest emergency department. GP Helpline also available on 1800 022 222.

21.01.2022 Gladstone Street Medical Clinic and Gippsnip are proud to sponsor the Ellinbank Twilight Sports again! Looks like a great evening for it. There should be plenty of GSMC/Gippsnip water bottles up for grabs too!

19.01.2022 We have launched Gippsnip - Scapel Free Vasectomy at our clinic. Head over to www.gippsnip.com.au for details about the procedure, process and fees. Call 5622 0222 to book appointments or if you have any questions.

18.01.2022 Vasectomies are a safe, permanent contraceptive solution for when your family is complete. Dr Patrick Ruane and Dr Louise Sterling from GIPPSNIP perform minimally invasive Scalpel Free Vasectomies at the centrally located Gladstone Street Medical Clinic in Warragul. This technique, now the preferred vasectomy method, has lower rates of complications such as pain, infection or bleeding. Overall, there is minimal discomfort and recovery is faster compared to traditional vasecto...my. The simple procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic and oral sedation. If you are interested, please call GIPPSNIP to book in for an initial consultation to make sure the procedure is right for you. If it is, you can then book in for the procedure on a convenient Friday (it is great to have the weekend to recover). For more information visit Gippsnip.com.au or call us on 5622 0222. See more

18.01.2022 Great news! We are now offering increased face to face consultations as well as continuing telehealth consultations. Please note, to continue to keep everyone safer, infection control procedures such as screening, closed waiting room, masks, cleaning, calling before entering the clinic, etc. remain in place. Medicare has extended rebates for Telehealth consultations until 31 March 2021 for those patients who have an existing relationship with the clinic (seen in person within... the previous 12 months). However, incentive payments that allowed us to fully bulk bill telehealth consultations have stopped. To help us all get back to a sustainable normal, we will keep it simple - GSMC’s regular billing policy and practices resume on 1 October 2020. Fees apply to all consultations including in-person, telephone and telehealth. Bulk billing is available to children aged under 16 as well as aged pension and disability support pension card holders. Bulk billing is also available at the doctor’s discretion. To protect your privacy and to ensure a timely response for any questions or concerns, please contact us on 5622 0444 to discuss.

18.01.2022 This is a great post/reminder from our friends at Warragul Respiratory Clinic/Central Clinic. Please contact them with any questions about COVID-19 testing, appointments, processes, results queries, etc.

17.01.2022 GSMC is committed to providing the highest standard of sustainable, quality primary care to our community. This includes ensuring that the clinic is a safe place for patients to receive care and for staff to work. GSMC, like most general practices, does not have the facilities to safely manage highly contagious infectious diseases such as Covid-19(Novel Coronavirus). For the safety of our patients and our staff we are introducing changes to how we schedule appointments to re...duce the risk of exposure to Covid-19. GSMC will not see patients with suspected Covid-19 in the clinic. When calling the clinic to make an appointment you must tell us: - If you have travelled overseas (anywhere) in the last 14 days - If you have had significant contact with people who have travelled overseas (anywhere) in the last 14 days. (Significant contact is defined as 15 minutes of face-to-face contact or two hours of being in the same room) - If you have symptoms that are consistent with Covid-19. If any of the criteria above apply, please call to speak with our reception team on 5622 0444 to discuss your options and DO NOT book using our online service (HotDoc). For information on the Covid-19 virus please visit the DHHS website.

16.01.2022 Hi All, great things happening...ACROSS the road from us! Any questions - please contact the service directly.

13.01.2022 From 2 September 2019 Gladstone Street Medical Clinic will be charging the following fees for our most common services. A standard consultation fee is $78. A reduced fee of $68 is available to health care card holders. The Medicare rebate is $38.20. Bulk Billing will continue to be available to children aged under 16 as well as aged pension and disability support pension card holders. Longer appointments will incur additional fees. These will, however, incur the same out of pocket "gap payment" as a standard consultation. In order to minimise fee increases, a surcharge equal to the cost imposed upon us by the banks will be passed on if you choose to settle by credit card.

13.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are starting to introduce electronic prescribing. For a great introduction, please watch this video. As usual, we will start off a bit cautious and find the postives and the challenges before this becomes a part of everyone's new normal. :) Electronic prescribing allows prescribers and their patients to use an electronic Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) prescription. It forms part of an Australian Government budget measure to make the PBS more efficient. ...Electronic prescriptions are part of the broader digital health and medicines safety framework. They enable the prescribing, dispensing and claiming of medicines, without the need for a paper prescription. Electronic prescribing will not fundamentally change existing prescribing and dispensing processes. Patients can still choose which pharmacy they attend to fill their prescription. Prescribers and patients can choose an electronic prescription instead of a paper prescription. Paper prescriptions will still exist.

12.01.2022 HI All, FYI We will be closed on the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday, 5 November 2019. After hours GP available by calling 5622 0444. For urgent health matters please report your nearest Emergency Department or call 000. GP service also available on 1800 022 222.
