24.01.2022 The markets are on again at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens tomorrow, July 19, 7:00am-12:00pm Come visit our stall and discover fascinating information on the Creation/Evolution debate and how greatly this impacts the questions of where we came from, why we are here, and where this world is going...

23.01.2022 This morning after we set up our stall I spoke at length with a young man about the creation/evolution debate, explaining how it's not about "religion vs science" because even evolutionists believe in miracles: 1. The Big Bang (in the beginning there was nothing and then it exploded); 2. The formation of stars and planets (particles flying apart fly back together again due to imaginary "dark matter");... 3. Life arising from non-life (contrary to the law of biogenesis); 4. Natural selection (loss of genetic information) producing evolution (gain in genetic information); etc. Presenting evidence of dinosaur-human coexistence from science and history was also engaging, and upholding a young earth led naturally into sharing the gospel. By the end of the conversation the man expressed his amazement at how quickly the evolutionary worldview crumbled, and said, "Thanks for the enlightenment." He took a church card and a Creation magazine and left deep in thought. His girlfriend, who loves dinosaurs, was also listening to the conversation. Hopefully we'll see them again next time. For the rest of the morning I continued to use this approach, exposing evolution for what it is. Hydrogen does not turn into people, no matter how much time you give it Many times, the responses were along the lines of, "Wow, I've never heard that before...", and many were willing to take our cards and more Creation magazines. If you're looking for ways to engage people and share the gospel with them, this is a great way to do it. Consider subscribing to Creation Magazine - read the magazines and then give them away to anyone you know who shows an interest, and then follow up on it. Here are some pics from this morning...

22.01.2022 Come check out our markets stall at the Botanic Gardens tomorrow

22.01.2022 "I'm going to look this up as soon as I get home." "Very cool." "Amazing."... "We never learned about this in school." These are the kinds of comments we heard all morning as curious people stopped by our stall - almost all were very open to hearing about how science and history is consistent with a Biblical worldview, and we were able naturally transition to a presentation of the Gospel on many occasions. We also shared about how atheists and evolutionists have to believe in their own set of miracles (or "magic" might be a better term) in order to hold that hydrogen turns into people, given enough time... Thanks Hendrik Hattingh for all the photos

16.01.2022 What did Jesus mean when he referred to himself as "the son of man"? The phrase comes from Daniel 7, where Daniel had a vision of God (Daniel 7:9-10) and a vision of "one like a son of man" (Daniel 7:13-14) who is led into the presence of God. However, this "son of man" (meaning a human) is clearly more than human. He is himself Divine:... (1) He comes on the clouds of heaven, which identifies him as God himself (Deu 33:26; Psalm 68:32-34; Psalm 104:3; Isaiah 19:1). (2) He is given authority, glory, sovereign power, universal worship, and an everlasting kingdom - attributes which can only apply to God himself, who will share his glory with no other (Isaiah 42:8). In other words, Daniel had a vision of the Father and the Son. Revelation 1 is also based on Daniel 7, and is the climax of the identification of Jesus as "the son of man": (1) He is coming on the clouds (Rev 1:7) (2) He was pierced (Rev 1:7/Zech 12:10) (3) He is "like a son of man" (Rev 1:13/Dan 7:13) (4) His hair is white like wool (Rev 1:14/Dan 7:9) (5) His voice is like the voice of rushing waters (Rev 1:15/Ez 43:2) (6) He is the First and the Last (Rev 1:17/Isaiah 44:6) (7) He is the Alpha and the Omega (Rev 1:8/21:6/22:13) So what did Jesus mean when he identified himself as "the son of man"? He explicitly declared himself to be the one spoken of in Daniel 7 (Matthew 26:64). Human, and yet fully God - God in the flesh, who came to die on the cross for sinful man, who rose again, and who will one day return to judge the world and establish his Kingdom across the Earth.

15.01.2022 What did Jesus mean when he said, "I am the good shepherd" (John 10)? He was identifying himself with Yahweh, the good shepherd of the Old Testament. In Ezekiel 34 Yahweh rebukes the "shepherds" of Israel for failing to strengthen the weak, heal the sick, bind up the injured, bring back the strays, and search for the lost (see also Jeremiah 23). ... And he says, "I MYSELF will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock WHEN HE IS WITH THEM, so will I look after my sheep..." (Ezekiel 34:11-16). Yahweh is the good shepherd who is prepared to lay a table before seekers even while pharisaical enemies look on in contempt (Psalm 23/Luke 15:1-7). And four times, Jesus stated that the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep (John 10:11-18). This is the heart of the Gospel, that the Word - God himself - became flesh (John 1:1, 14) and laid down his life for the sins of the world, that whoever repents of their sin and trusts in Jesus and his substitutionary sacrifice on the cross will be forgiven and enter in to eternal life.

03.01.2022 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)
