22.01.2022 Great fundraiser at the observer club

15.01.2022 A couple of early morning forecasts that may shed some light. With rain coming down the coast, Gladstone has seen in the past where things slow down and can produce a lot of rain. While the forecast is reasonably calm, stay tuned to your preferred weather sources or Gladstone Regional Council for all your up to date weather information.

14.01.2022 Today we celebrate International Volunteer Day and say thanks to our hardworking QFES volunteers for all they do for the Queensland community #IVD2018

12.01.2022 Hi all, it looks like we may have a bit of weather coming our way. Please be aware, but not alarmed, by doing some basic checks on the usual suspects such as: * Unblocking gutters and drains... * Move lose objects under cover and away * Understand how to take umbrellas, sails or other objects down as required in the case of damaging winds. * Check your neighbours are ok, they may need a hand or don’t understand the importance of preparation. At this stage, Gladstone SES has not been activated. This may change once we know what this system is doing. Please do not panic buy, you do not need 20 litres of milk or 10 loaves of bread. .... maybe so donuts In the instance of power outages, please check that you have non perishable food and also check your gas on the bbq. Remember please keep children away from flooded pipes and streams. Remember if the road is flooded, forget it. Above all stay safe and be mindful of what is happening around you . The SES call out number is 132 500 Note: Until advised otherwise, sandbags are not required at this time for weather related flooding issues. Feel free to contact us for any other water damage requirements. Stay safe, Stephen Withoos Group Leader, Gladstone SES

02.01.2022 FIRE DANGER RATING Hot, dry conditions will see VERY HIGH and locally SEVERE fire danger ratings hang around large parts of Queensland this week. We need the ...community to continue working with us. If you see a fire, report it to Triple Zero (000). Be aware of local fire bans and restrictions in your area. Take notice of your surroundings and listen to any bushfire warnings in your area. Take care when operating machinery such as slashers and mowers. See more
