24.01.2022 National Parks have just opened this new trail/walk in the Glasshouse Mountains. I challenged myself to undertake this grade 5 walk last Saturday and am glad I did. It took about 3 hours with some nice scenic lookouts, some scrambling over a rock face plus interesting flora along the way. A really good alternative for those who want a challenge- but do not want to climb the nearby Mt Tibrogargan. Starts near the Ecolodge & highly recommended.

24.01.2022 A 45,000 Klm road trip to get to the Ecolodge. How thrilled we were to have this couple stay with us on the last night of their grand 45,000klm overland journey from London to Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge. They travelled via Europe& Asia to undertake what many might think is the ultimate " bucket list" trip. After 12 months of travel they chose to fly back to London.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to Travis ( orange shirt) a recent guest who competed in the annual Glasshouse Mountains Endurance run. Travis ran 100 miles non stop in 24 hours & 1 minute. A mighty effort to Travis & his back up crew.

21.01.2022 Australia Zoo to the rescue at the Ecolodge. Turned up within minutes to rescue a Small parrot found injured at the Ecolodge. Well done Australia Zoo hospital rescue team

20.01.2022 One of our special friends at the Ecolodge.

20.01.2022 Ecolodge swarmed with hundreds of new guests during shutdown. Thanks to Hive Haven who have installed 6 new hives we now have hundreds of stingless Australian native bees in residence. Though most welcome, we are really looking forward to a return of guests with credit cards soon!

19.01.2022 Welcome to the world’s smallest coffee shop. Yes an old English phone box now serving coffee . Not out of place with our historical Church and assortment of train carriages collected over the years

17.01.2022 Our recent guest from Germany was keen to plant a tree in our rainforest rehabilitation area. A single tree! But one of over a thousand that has been planted in the past 10 years. The bio-diversity of this small patch of remnant forest has seen scores of new species of birds return as well as increases in nativefrogs and butterflies possums and bandicoots. Thank you for your part Sebast

16.01.2022 Great News about Mt Beerwah. National Parks have reopened Mt Beerwah to climbers. Having been closed for nearly 5 years due to a rock fall, this will no doubt be good news to those climbers who have wanted to climb this the tallest peak in the Glasshouse Mountains. Definetly only for the highly experienced and check/ test your abilities before attempting this climb

16.01.2022 We rescued this little turtle from the roadway 8 years ago and again rescued him today from the road in front of the Ecolodge. He is a regular guest here returning from the nearby creek where we returned him too today. Any suggestions for a name?

10.01.2022 Glasshouse Ecolodge swarmed with hundreds of new guests! Not that we mind as they are Australian stingless native bees. Thanks to our good friends at Hive Haven we now have 6 hives on our Ecolodge property. Aboriginal people have used native honey as a food and medicine for tens of thousands of years. Each hive produces about 1kg per year so it is easy to see how this delicate honey is one of the rarest in the world

10.01.2022 Exciting times at the Ecolodge. The arrival of our container- pop up shop to be used as our new coffee roasting house. Watch this space!

09.01.2022 The Easter bunny does exist. He visited us at the Ecolodge & dug all these holes . No doubt to bury his eggs. Much to the delight of the children the next day!

09.01.2022 Called in at this new tea room on my way to the Glasshouse Mountains Lookout. What an amazing place and it is right out of the 1960's. Even Rhonda(the owner) who quite often dresses to suit the mood. Great place for a coffee and take the time to look over the house full of antiques. Just love people like this who can do something they love & turn it into a business.

08.01.2022 Celebrations are still continuing well into the new year here at the Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge. Referring of course to our new supply of Jaboticaba wine grown from organic fruit sourced here at our Ecolodge. We picked just over 250kg of fruit which made just over 200 bottles of wine. Free wine tastings for all those who are staying with us. Enjoy!

08.01.2022 Springtime and the flowers on our Orchard trees are blooming. Lots of nice Grumichama cherries and Jaboticaba fruits in plentiful supply.

05.01.2022 What are they? Our guests all ask as they walk by. Bunya nuts from our nearby trees. This weekend the 26th at Ewen Maddock Dam the local Aboriginal people will be celebrating the Bunya Festival - all welcome!

05.01.2022 The flowering of our Dragon Fruit which occurs at night once a year is a sight to behold. Lots of delicious dragon fruit in the next few weeks will be a delight on guests breakfast menu

05.01.2022 Is this the Year of the mango? In 20+ years of growing mangoes here at the Ecolodge I have never seen so many flowers budding & setting. If the rain can hold off another few weeks I think we are in for a bumper crop!

05.01.2022 Our new coffee roasting house is slowly taking shape- just waiting for the roaster. We want to start our "Crop to Cup" coffee appreciation day with a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony ( The original home of coffee) and up turns up a traditional Coffee set all the way from Ethiopia. A lovely gift. Thank you Alula.
