24.01.2022 GRAND FINAL GAME DAY > Good luck to our Open Girls AFL Team prepping to take on St Ignatius in the big show at St Iggies!! GLEE-WHAT? GLEE-SON!!

24.01.2022 YEAR 12 TRIAL EXAM WEEK > We wish the very best to all our students undertaking Year 12 Trial Exams in the Micah Centre this week. Remember...dont stress and do your best!

24.01.2022 It was a delight for our Youth Ministry Class to prepare and deliver a Religion lesson to a Reception Class (Room 5) at St Francis Xaviers Catholic School on Monday. Our students once again embraced the opportunity, planning and facilitating a lesson around the Bible story of the fishermen casting their nets and catching a haul of fish. Their young audience was so excited to see the big students arrive and sat attentively to the retelling of the story. Our Youth Ministry students did such a good job they have been invited back for another lesson! This was a fantastic opportunity to further strengthen our connection with one of our local partner primary schools and teach others about our faith in such an illustrated way. #connections Monica Doherty, Assistant Principal Religious Identity & Mission (APRIM)

23.01.2022 WORLD KINDNESS DAY > Today, the 13th November, is World Kindness Day. Its celebration encourages people to overlook all boundaries that frequently divide us from one another. The challenge is to make the world a better place by doing good deeds. For a deed to be kind, there is no expectation of any reward or benefit to the giver. In both the example and teaching of Jesus, the call to be kind to one another rings out clearly, however kindness is a characteristic not confined to Christian teaching. The Dalai Lama said, Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. Or as Mark Twain put it, Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Lord, help us today to do some acts of kindness that will help to make the world a better place. Together We Pray, With One Heart, Amen. #worldkindnessday2020

18.01.2022 STATE CHAMPIONS!! > Congratulations to our Year 8&9 Boys KO Soccer Team and Coach Mr Librino on an outstanding golden goal victory against a strong Playford International outfit this morning! The boys were 0-2 down at the break and worked extremely hard to get themselves back into the contest in the second half, scoring two goals sending the game to extra time! A free kick 40 seconds into extra time saw Cameron Harris send in a brilliant ball, which was kept in by Kaelan Laird and then headed past the keeper by Alfie Nayler, to win us the State Title (3-2)!! 14.01.2022 GC CAPTAIN FINDS BACK OF NET IN FINAL SECOND OF MATCH TO SEND US TO THE BIG SHOW!! > Congratulations to our Open Girls KO Soccer Team who have earned a berth in the 2020 State Finals after Captain Alana Fitzsimmons clutched one past the keeper in the last kick of the game, securing a 1-0 victory over Roma Mitchell! The team won both their earlier games against Marryatville (2-0) and Salisbury East (2-0), but a strong Roma Mitchell outfit proved tougher competition, with the scores locked at 0-0 going into the final minute. Our girls stayed focused, encouraged each other and played the ball, and were duly rewarded! Well done to all the players and Coaches Mr Vause and Taylor Fiorita.

13.01.2022 "WE LIKE TO MOVE IT, MOVE IT!" > GLEESON YEAR 12s VISIT SFX YEAR 2s FOR ADAPTED GAMES WORKSHOP Our Year 12 Child Studies students recently completed their final group activity for the year an assessment focused on the impact of computer technologies and how over-engagement in sedentary activities can impact a childs health, wellbeing and development. Students had to adapt a popular computer game or app into a physical activity, with a focus on supporting students fine a...nd gross motor skills. Some groups also decided to focus on promoting students cognitive development and social skills. As a class, we then visited St Francis Xaviers Catholic School where groups implemented their adapted games to engage Mrs Amos Year 2 Class with a range of physical activities. Adapted games included Angry Birds, Wii Sports, Monopoly and Subway Surfer. The planned activities engaged a group of five to six students for approximately 15 minutes before rotating. The primary school students had a fantastic time and did not want the activities to end! The Year 12s thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work with the excited and energetic SFX students. Many thanks to Mrs Elaine Amos and all her Year 2 students for allowing us to visit! Ashlee Curtis, Stage 2 Child Studies Teacher See more
