25.01.2022 Painting is 100x60cm. I have used those Langridge oil paints, they are lush to use and have some very Australian landscape colours.

24.01.2022 Thankyou to Bribie Island Community Arts Centre for all the work in bringing together the Matthew Flinders Art Prize. I was lucky to win second prize for this painting, 'Border Ranges'.

23.01.2022 Planning an open studio exhibition for the month of June 2020. Spend so much time maintaining home and hearth, it will be heartwarming to share it. Will feature small works and lots of works on paper.

02.01.2022 2019 ART WORKSHOPS WITH GLENDA CHARLES A DAY OF ABSTRACTION: Saturday 2nd. February and Wednesday 6th. February. This workshop is aimed at artists with their own art practice but who are keen to free up and incorporate more of the things that are important in their lives into their artworks.... PUTTING MORE MEANING INTO YOUR ART PRACTICE: Saturday 2nd. March and Wednesday 6th. March. Making art involves the head, the heart and the hand. Technical ability can be learnt and we learn from others’ expertise but how do we put that heartfelt magic into our work? In this workshop we explore being childlike, maintaining curiosity, keeping inspired and having fun. PAINTING EN PLEIN AIR: Saturday 6th. April and Wednesday 10th. April. Being IN the environment is the easiest way to put ‘life’ into your landscapes. Come to Bribie for the day and experience working in a small group outdoors and you’ll become addicted to plein air painting and drawing. SPIRITUALITY AND THE ART PROCESS: Saturday 11th. May and Wednesday 15th. May. ‘I find out everything about myself in that moment of making. The musician, Nils Frahm said this about the process of making music and so it can be said about all art practice. A small group of like minded souls will explore rituals of preparation, making the most of your art strengths, learning new skills and playing with the overlap of the spheres of our lives. EXPRESSIVE DRAWING: Saturday 1st. June and Wednesday 5th. June. We often get caught in a particular drawing style so this drawing day aims at exploring different ways to draw and encourages you to draw often, draw everything and draw with a variety of materials. ANOTHER DAY OF ABSTRACTION: Saturday 7th. September and Wednesday 11th. September. This is a followup workshop to the one earlier in the year. Students are encouraged to bring artworks that they are having difficulty resolving and we will move further down the road from semi abstraction to pure abstraction. KEEPING A VISUAL DIARY: Saturday 5th. October and Wednesday 9th. October. It is often said that we get the best answers when we talk to ourselves! Keeping a visual diary is a good way to validate this personal conversation and this workshop aims to make that process of collecting and analysing the data of our lives fun and useful in putting more meaning in our creative lives. A workshop day will run from 9.30am to 4pm. Workshops will be at my home studio in Bongaree. There will be 5 participants in a class. Students will bring their own materials and I will supply a materials list. Many students have their own materials so mostly it will only be good quality paper or canvas that will be needed. A healthy lunch will be served at 12.30 on the workshop day. Cost of the workshop day is $100 to be paid a fortnight before the workshop date.
