25.01.2022 Spring has come early with the first sighting of a Hooded Plover nest with two eggs in it on the beach at Seacliff. Volunteers spotted the nest over the weekend... and already fencing and signage has been erected around the site to protect the beach-nesting birds. Dog owners are reminded to have their pets on a leash within 100 metres of the nesting area, which is situated between Shoreham Road and Oleander Street. The endangered shorebirds have made Seacliff their home for the past five years, and with extra beach patrols monitoring the area this summer, it’s hoped they’ll have another successful chick fledgling. A big thanks to BirdLife Australia volunteers, Holdfast Bay's Rapid Response team and Matt Endacott from Green Adelaide for the quick response.

Forced to close due to COVID lockdowns and faced with no work for staff, The Beachhouse team took it upon themselves to give the entire complex a makeover, from recycling the old Ferris Wheel sign to a new paint job. And the amazing work they have all done on the Putt Putt course will blow your mind, with a new course design, fresh AstroTurf and decorations. They must have planted a thousand plants out there!
