23.01.2022 Dear community, Erika Lees has been appointed as the Principal of Glen Huon in 2021. There is a two week period for this to be finalised. Erika is extremely excited and looking forward to working closely with you.

22.01.2022 Prep/One students have been asked to reply with their theories, to a photo provocation, as part of an inquiry approach to their literacy program. Luka is considering how the fragile mushroom found its way into the pot of this small seedling. The children have also been asked what type of seedling they think this might be. We are constantly amazed by the thinking of these very young children!... How do you think that teeny tiny mushroom got there?

21.01.2022 A fun and busy day for some of our Grade Sixes today as they visited the Huonville High School kitchen and Zayed Huon Energy Hub. The cookies were amazing and the fun activities in the hub made the time fly by. We even got to see some familiar faces with our Grade Seven friends coming to say Thank you everyone for a fantastic day.

11.01.2022 Some incredible thinking from Alfie in Grade One. As part of our Inquiry on Sound we were thinking about how sound gets into our ears so we can hear it. Alfie drew this incredible picture and said the following. ‘I think the sound bounces off stuff. It bounces off walls and the ground. It goes in your ear and travels to the loopy pipe and goes around the back of your head into the middle bit of one of the pipes. Then it goes around the front of the head. It goes through ano...ther pipe into your brain system so you can hear it.’ Incredible!

11.01.2022 Prep/One have been VERY lucky today. They had a Zoom meeting with International Animal Welfare expert Dr Leisha Hewitt today. Dr Leisha generously answered all of our questions about animal ears and the way animals hear as a part of an Inquiry into sound. From millipedes to giraffes to crocodiles and everything in between, Dr Leisha knew the answers! ... Thank you Dr Leisha!
