24.01.2022 The mantle of His love...
24.01.2022 We've missed seeing our friends at Kid's Club! While we're all staying at home, Hannah wanted to share some stories and activities with you all. So, welcome to our first Kids' Club at Home video! We'll learn a bit more about filming and editing as we go along, but for now, feel free to listen and watch the story of The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson. Keep watching and you can watch the characters come off the page in play-dough and paper-craft form. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo-M2aMsRts
23.01.2022 It's Friday! Do you feel like dancing? Well, here's a story and craft to get you inspired to welcome the weekend with your dancing shoes on! 23.01.2022 The Uniting Church affirms that all people are made in the image of God, as beloved children of God, and that God’s inclusive grace and love extends to all. God’s gifts for leadership are not restricted by sexual orientation or gender identity, and are welcomed in the life of the Church. Rev Denise Liersch, Moderator, Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.
22.01.2022 Ground yourself in the love of the God we know, pray and stay connected. We are all in this together.
22.01.2022 The City of Boroondara has a dedicated COVID-19 support line. See details below, and please share them with the elderly and isolated people in our community.
22.01.2022 Hello Glen Iris community, We won’t be running Kid’s Club this week in order to comply with updated COVID-19 health advice and to give ourselves and our community the best chance to stay healthy and safe. We’ll post updates here about what will happen next term when we learn more :) Love and hugs to everyone feeling worried, lonely, and worn out. You’re in our prayers
20.01.2022 Kinder is back, and there is plenty of happy noise and laughter coming from the school. Inside our main centre is still very quiet, with only some necessary maintenance happening. I captured this quick pic of our lovely flower boxes when I walked past yesterday. Church and social activities continue by Zoom. You are most welcome to make contact and join us.
20.01.2022 Rev Gareth Darlow sent out our congregational email this morning. Here is the text for anyone interested. If you would like to join our mailing list, please email us at [email protected]. "We are living in uncertain times! As the situation around Covid-19 develops, the advice we’re getting from government and from the UCA develops with it. We’re trying to make sure that we keep each other well and safe as best as we’re able. We’re gathering together this Sunday m...orning for our intergen service (although we’ll be sitting a little further apart from each other than usual). At the moment, the church’s advice is that worship is fine so long as we don’t have over a hundred people in a room at the same time. If we do hit that number, we’ll have to split up into groups in different areas but to be honest I’m not sure how likely that is. As we go forward, we’ll be playing it by ear a little. We’ll continue gathering together while the advice is that it’s safe to gather. That being said, if you’re not feeling well, or not feeling safe about coming, please let us know. Physical distance is an important tool, but the feeling of isolation can be frightening. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone if you would enjoy a chat. We’re experimenting with recording parts of the service so that you can keep contact with the congregation’s life (and experience the dubious joys of listening to me preach in your own home!) We’re talking about posting audio online, and maybe having CDs for those who don’t have great access to the internet. And it’s a good time to pray. For the people around us who are worried. For those around us who don’t have great resources of family and community. For those who are working to make us all safe and well. And even as we feel all the complex feelings that a time like this brings out let’s remember that the God who has loved us and kept us all our lives, loves us and keeps us still. Shalom, Gareth"
18.01.2022 Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate Easter at home with your kids? With public gatherings cancelled, we appreciate how hard it might be to mark this special time of year. We are working on a special 'at home' kit for a Messy Church Easter! If this interests you, get in touch via Facebook Messenger. We'll send you the resources and let you know how you can share with us in a form of virtual community!

17.01.2022 The Lord is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! Our worship together continues this Easter morning with our service at 10 am by Zoom. Open your link a bit early so we can get the tech happening. Have a cuppa set up to make straight after the service if you have time for some discussion afterwards.
