24.01.2022 The AJGC Local Series Regatta and Coaching Week being held at Benalla is cracking on! David Collins achieved 918.11 kms at a speed of 111.87 kph on Monday 10th... January. This gave him1068.57 points on the OLC GCV leaderboard sneaking right behind Toby Geiger who had 1166.07 points. A massive effort in light of border restrictions. Well done David! See more

24.01.2022 500km FAI at 122kph today, fast beginning (150kph to TP1), medium middle (133kph to TP2) & tricky end! I feel like I played my cards well for the conditions tod...ay, fast cruising, extending glides & tactical deviations to keep the speed up at the end. I test flew G1 today with 2 vortex generators on each wing, mixed results. Climbing to the left was clearly better, could thermal slower & felt like it carried the water easier. Climbing to the right though felt poorer. Cruising seemed unaffected, though there was more turbulence noise from the turtle deck area. A good exercise, but two of them will come off soon to restore to what I felt was a more optimum solution for G1 Carried my water all day, only dumped 25lts prior to my last climb to get onto glide quicker. Very pleased with my final glides lately, the nerves are less & the speed is more constant all the way in now

24.01.2022 Wow. What an amazing last 2 days enjoyed by many of our members while unfortunately some of us had to work. Yesterday saw Trevor and Jack do 865km @132kph whi...ch we believe to be a record distance from Ararat and then backed it up today with 620km @115kph. Andrew and Kevin smashed around Kevs triangle yesterday in the Janus. 320km @115kph. Others enjoyed the 10,000ft+ heights and stayed more local. Thanks to Mike for the towing and to the ground crew for their help. See more

He immediately took to the skies and got his licence. The passion soon rubbed onto me to feed my need for adventure and experiencing new things. Loving the outdoors and flying free is a beautiful feeling and I thank my Dad for introducing me to the opportunity to follow your passions in life.The beauty of having an eagle fly on your wing with you, there are no words to describe the tranquility of looking in the eagles eyes right there with you and having that common feeling of being one with nature. 19.01.2022 The first VSA Composite Care Course was held at Benalla on 6th May. This was the first course run and is a one day course. It was a great success and very informative. The course was put together by Joe Luciani, RTO Airworthiness and Dr. John Wharington and from the excellent feedback and responses, VSA is hoping to add this to the available courses for our Victorian clubs. Good work guys!

14.01.2022 The Australian Junior Gliding Clubs QLD Local Series goes pink! DDSC hosted QLDs first AJGC Junior Local Series for the year over last weekend, being luckie...r with the Covid situation than other states so far. The #yesgirlsglide theme attracted an awesome bunch of guys and gals - some who were able to have their first ever flights, right through to others getting conversions & ratings, and most getting to either fly their own or be mentored through a fun cross country task with incredible coaches. 10.01.2022 The Raywood camp is coming to a close today MGC members enjoyed some great conditions at Raywood that saw flights of 750 , 500, 300 flown by a number of our pil...ots (OLC for details) many thanks to PK and Gilles for getting us into the air each day. Thanks also goes to R Traill for his detailed weather briefing each day at 10. James Nugent flew his LS3 down from Mildura to Raywood to claim the come and get it trophy which would now be located at Mildura for those looking to claim it. Also thanks to the members of the BGC for there support over the last 2 weeks along with the use of the club house and airfield. Let’s see what we can do with the rest of the 2021 season.

07.01.2022 The World Record setting Pilot Lisa Trotter has conquered some of glidings toughest achievements. Lisas historic ten hour flight in December 2013 broke a tota...l of 31 world, national and continental records. Her exemplary work is inspiration to all of us. Lisa says her enthusiasm for gliding comes from her Dad, who took her on gliding holidays growing up! Lisa - My father flew in the World War 2 and continued on as an airline pilot after the war. After more than 40 years of flying power he had a go at gliding and we both did a course together. Now 40 years later Im still flying gliders and loving it. If I hadnt been for dads flying, I might not have had a chance to have a peek into the world of aviation and realise that I could take part in this fascinating interest. With dads support and the familiarity of aviation, I felt confident to take on the many challenges of gliding from going solo to world record flights.

04.01.2022 Next person in our list of amazing Dads in Gliding community is Robert Gould! Robert shared on his love and thrill of aviation to his daughter, Lilly Gould! ...Lilly Dad was really the main person who got me into aviation and inherently gliding. Hes my number one coach for competition I swear he used to be a plane and thats how he knows so much. This photo is from a cross country together. The best piece of advice he gave me is it doesnt matter what you have done its what you do next that counts and I think it really speaks ounces in every aspect of life not just gliding. Lilly has already participated in several competitions, and is always looking forward to more competitions We cant wait to see Lilly bring her A-game to JoeyGlide 2020! (January cant come soon enough!)

01.01.2022 Today we dont have just one but three loving, kind Dads who got to share the joy of gliding with their children Jeff and Zac - Jeff learned to fly when he wa...s younger but got back into it with Zac later in life - they took a solo course and learned again together Matt and Pete both joined and learned together Kevin and Ben - Kevin took Ben for first flight when Ben was 4 years old in 1991. They have flown multiple times together ever since!
