25.01.2022 Exciting news for our Showground!
25.01.2022 New to Gloucester Show this year due to popular demand, a dedicated Heavy Horse Ring! Come along and see these powerful giants in action. The Pumpkin Snatch event should be a real crowd pleaser!
24.01.2022 Please be advised that the Show is NOT going to be totally cashless. We have implemented measures to help REDUCE the amount of cash handling for our Covid Safety Plan that we had to have in place when we decided to go ahead with the Show late last year. We would prefer people to go the cashless option where possible but will still be accepting cash money.
21.01.2022 Gloucester Showgirl 2020 Announcement Due to the cancellation of our 2020 Gloucester Show, the announcement for our Showgirl was postponed until yesterday afternoon. The event was a small one due to Covid-19, attended by the girls’ families and Gloucester AH&P Committee members. Congratulations go to our new Showgirl Taylah Eyre Hughes, runner up Chloe Garnham, and third place to Brianna Martin.
21.01.2022 Who is keen to enter the Tug Of War at the Gloucester Show this year?! Jackpot event with the winning team taking ALL prize money in each division! Get some friends, colleagues or teammates together for your chance to win some quick cash and bragging rights!!
20.01.2022 We have a number of smaller projects going on at the Showground made possible by some recent grant funding, that require a bit of help to get them finished by the deadline which is almost due! We would love if any of our Association members or those in the Gloucester community might have an hour or two to spare this weekend (or more!) to pop down and give our volunteers a hand? Many hands make light work!
20.01.2022 TWILIGHT DRESSAGE ENTRIES CLOSED Due to an overwhelming response to our Twilight Dressage, we have had to close our Nominate pre-entries early, which included the Showjumping. Please be advised that we will still be accepting further Showjumping entries on the day.
19.01.2022 GLOUCESTER SHOWGROUND UPGRADES Gloucester Showground will benefit from $258,493 in funding as part of the NSW Government COVID-19 Stimulus package. The funding will allow for upgrades to showground infrastructure and support employment in the local economy.... When COVID-19 hit, it forced the cancellation of Gloucester’s annual Show and the many other community-based activities which the showground relies on for income to cover ongoing costs. Projects to be funded include the installation of a non-potable water reticulation system and tank, the replacement of arena lighting with LEDs, replacement of arena fencing, painting of two pavilions, installation of wash bays at the horse stables and dairy shed, laser levelling and top dressing of the main arena. This investment by the NSW Government will provide a boost for the showground and the community by supporting trade work and suppliers and, at the same time, strengthening the showground infrastructure for the future. Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey said this funding is part of $25 million which will be spent over two years to improve showgrounds across the state. $12.5 million is being allocated immediately to get projects underway this financial year under the NSW Government’s COVID-19 Stimulus Package. We will then follow through by allocating another $12.5 million for more work across showgrounds to be announced next financial year. Gloucester Showground is one of 137 across the state which will benefit from this first tranche of funding.
19.01.2022 The Gloucester AH&P Association is calling for nominations for its Management Committee To nominate for the Management Committee a person must be a financial member of the Association ($20 single, $40 joint/family) and... - be over the age of 18, - complete the nomination form which can be obtained from the Secretary, Lorraine Forbes (6558 2468) and the Gloucester Show website, - have the nomination form signed by two paid-up Association members for the 2020-2021 financial year. - deliver the completed form to the Secretary no later than 4.00pm on Wednesday, 16th September, 2020. Should there be more nominations than positions available, a postal ballot of all Association members will be held in October with the results of the ballot announced at the Association’s Annual General Meeting in November. It is an exciting time to be part of the Management Committee. Recent grant funding opportunities have provided almost $600,000 for upgrade works on the showground. Application has been made for further government stimulus funding. A master plan for the future development of the showground is in its early stages. The committee will welcome the input of a broad cross-section of our community.

02.01.2022 WORKING BEE UPDATE Thank you to all who turned up to lend a hand at our working bee for the previous weekend! We had 13 people at the Showground at some point on Saturday and 21 on Sunday! Everyone worked hard to clear the bottom corner, put up more fencing and work on the wash bays.... Fantastic effort! Special mention of the younger brigade, including our Showgirl, who got ‘down and dirty’ in the trenches laying pipe and working the concrete mixer. Big thanks also to Merilyn Snape and Anne Moorcroft for providing lots of goodies for morning tea and Bobby Ashby for serving up the sausage sandwiches from the barbecue on both days.
01.01.2022 We are trying something different this year with a relaxed Twilight Dressage competition on the Friday afternoon/evening of the Show. Pre-entry nomination is required so we can form a draw, entry fees are payable on the day upon signing the waiver form. Please go to our website for the entry form.
