20.01.2022 Lillian.. Ive decided to name this piece after Lillian Diana Gish who was an American pioneering actress of the screen and stage and a director and writer. Her film acting career spanned 75 years, from 1912, in silent film shorts, to 1987. Gish was called "The First Lady of American Cinema", and is credited with pioneering fundamental film performance techniques. Gish was a prominent film star from 1912 into the 1920s, including her leading role in the highest-grossing fil...m of the silent era, The Birth of a Nation (1915). At the dawn of the sound era, she returned to the stage and appeared in film infrequently, including well-known roles in the controversial western Duel in the Sun (1946) and the thriller The Night of the Hunter (1955). 20.01.2022 Flashback.. here is one of my most challenging commission pieces on an emotional level. A friend asked me to do this for a dear friend of hers who had just lost her only child in a tragic car accident. The girl who died was only 18 and it was her first solo drive.. she was so very excited as you can imagine. She never returned. Her mother was a single Mum and was obviously absolutely devastated. The mother and daughter were very close and were about to go on a trip together t...o Bali. They both loved mermaids and planned to get matching mermaid tattoos on their holiday. This was never to be so I was commissioned to draw a beautiful mermaid. I felt overwhelmed to be honest to create a piece worthy of such a loss. All I could think was I wanted the mermaid to look completely at peace so Mum may feel a tiny bit of comfort from that. #artistsoninstagram #art #artheals #seekjoy See more

09.01.2022 Loving Hands.. this piece was inspired by a dreadful domestic abuse case in Australia where 3 beautiful children and their mother were killed by their father. My first draft was naturally a bit somber but as I worked on it I thought of the many children who are sheltered by loving hands be they male or female.. a very healing piece of artwork for me to do.. the colour arrived!!
