23.01.2022 When is the ‘right time’ to potty train? The truth is... right now! Just start. Grab a copy of Andrea’s book The tiny potty training book to ensure your success and confidence in your methodology. Having a clear plan of what and how you’re going to do is always a good idea when embarking on something we haven’t done before. Going into the unknown is likely to cause confusion for both you and your toddler leading to frustrations. ...Skip all of what not to do and do what works. And this most definitely works! The average completion time is 3-7 days. And as always I’m here if you need, worldwide, I’m only a Skype call away if you get stuck. #whenshouldipottytrain #pottytraining #therighttime #pottylearning #australianmums #timetopottytrain #pottytrainingproblems #pottytime #pottytrainingtips #pottytrainingboys See more

23.01.2022 A being the happy smiley girl she is, sitting one of her potties. She had just woken up from an epic sleep and nap. Does anyone’s else’s toddlers do that? Have a big sleep, wake up at a random time and then go back to sleep? On another note, how flippin cute is this bear knit? #pottytime #pottylearning #happybabieshappymommy #pottytrainingtips #easycatch #wakeuppee #pottytrainingtips #ECmum #ECbaby #jamiekay #australianmums #pottylearning #montessoribaby #montessorihome

22.01.2022 Is elimination communication harmful or not gentle? To me, EC is about communication. Deepening that connection with our babies, ourselves and our planet. As a western country we have unwittingly taught our babies to use the nappy/diaper so when it comes time to potty train or potty learn we say oh now you have to use the potty or the toilet. Doesn’t it make sense to begin from the start and use the nappy not as a toilet but as a back up in case you know, life happens or we j...ust miss it. It happens! No one is perfect all the time and I’d be crazy if I claimed that I catch all the pee’s which I most definitely don’t! We all experience potty pauses, developmental leaps and each individual child is different. We never coerce or force our babies to use the potty but when they are toddlers and we are doing potty learning we are firm but gentle and we don’t go back to using nappies. Some babies might resist this or is parents might see resistance and think ‘oh their not ready let’s go back to nappies and try again later’. When our babies resist the car seat for instance what do we do? We buckle them in and tell them it’s for their safety. Well using the potty is for their hygiene and that’s where we all go to do our business. It’s just what we do. There’s nothing un-gentle about that, it’s just a matter of fact way of being. Sportscasting, keeping a calm tone but sticking to your guns is key when commencing potty learning. Our babies need us to be consistent in what our expectations are. The more wishy washy we are with our boundaries and expectations , the more confusion and distrust we create between us and our babes. #gentlepottytraining #gentleparenting #noshame #dontshameme #toddlerlife #pottytime #pottytips #mumlife #ec #eliminationcommunication #pottygamestrong See more

19.01.2022 So the most amazing thing happened at our photo shoot... Mackenzie, our gorgeous model actually did a cheeky wee in the potty while I held her over it as @sarasvati snapped our pic. I was not at all surprised as she had been a little fussy and throwing out some subtle signals (toes curling and general fussiness) Now this 5 month old babe has never done any EC at all. The demeanour change in her was instant... instantly a happy little vegemite ... #EC #ECwins #bondingwithbaby #beachvibes #godiaperfree #ECworks #eliminationcommunication #babywhisperer #pottyanywhere #babysignals #babypotty #potty #pottytime

16.01.2022 This is one thing I want to get off my chest. And I wonder how many other ECing parents may feel the same way. ECing parents can face a lot of judgment. . Peopl...e may think that ECing parents are: - cheap and lazy - completely delusional and spending way too much time on their baby - gross and unhygienic - totally obsessed with not wiping poop - a bad parent for pushing baby - a preachy parent who is arrogant . For me, I know I’m not a perfect parent, but I’m trying to improve and make the best choices for my children. Like most parents, I love my children and want the best for them. . I share about EC not to brag about myself, but because I think it’s a wonderful thing! TOO good not to share with people since it’s not too well-known. I don’t push EC on anybody, but I share about it because it’s been a blessing to me and I want other families to be blessed too. . When I share about how amazing EC is, I am NOT making any comparison about me as a parent and you if you don’t choose to EC. When I share how I started with a newborn, I’m not saying that you’re any less of a parent for starting later. All I’m saying is that it’s possible to start with a newborn! . If you choose not to potty your baby, that is your right as a parent. But we can still be friends! Some of my friends who I’ve told about EC have done it! That brings me joy. Others have not decided to do it. That’s TOTALLY cool and we are still great friends! . We are all parents and we don’t need anymore shaming than what already is out there. Please don’t mistaken my joy of EC as a judgment on your parenting. . . I hope this is clear! I want every parent to be able to express joy in their parenting journeys without fear of offending others. . Thank you for reading . 15.01.2022 Let’s talk about The wonder weeks! This is a life changing parenting app and book! I love it so much I tell almost everyone I meet about it. It’s basically a calendar time frame of all your baby’s milestones and developmental leaps. It’s truly amazing how correct it is! It is bang on every time. So much so that most of the time you can tell just by your baby’s behaviour that a leap is impending. It’s like being a baby psychic! An extra form of communication and when our litt...le people can’t yet talk is really handy. You know how we say EC is an ebb and flow and the same goes for potty training, well Potty Pauses’ happen to the best of us. They may happen more than once. A recent study on just EC families found that potty pauses most often coincided with developmental leaps! Amazing. My own daughter, A has had two potty pauses... both during leaps. A soon as the Leap was over (3-4 wks) she resumed telling me when she needed to go and we were back to our usual hardly any accidents and getting the wee in the potty. So don’t let a potty pause fool into stopping your EC practice or potty training. Just keep offering and keep at it, it’ll come back. #ECtips #pottytips #pottytime #pottytraining #ECbaby #thewonderweeksbook #thewonderweeksapp #pottylearning #montessoritoddler #montessoriathome #eliminationcommunication

10.01.2022 When I say I do EC, a lot of people ask but what about when you’re out and about? And I say Well it’s not really an all or nothing thing you can just use a nappy back up if you want to but you can also take a potty with you instead of a million nappies. Especially as baby gets older and starts to consolidate their wee’s. Here we are the beach having a quick potty stop! #pottytrainingproblems #eliminationcommunication #pottytraining #ECbabies #ECbaby #outdoorpottytraining #godiaperfree #ECtips #jamiekay #minipotty

08.01.2022 These are an absolute game changer! These one size tiny baby or toddler training pants in a reusable cotton muslin drawstring bag: 100% cotton shell with two layer 100% cotton core, all natural, sweatshop-free. Made of super-soft 100% OEKO-TEX Certified cotton with eco-friendly dyes on colored styles (natural color is undyed/unbleached), these training pants are BCSI-Certified sweatshop-free and free from harmful chemicals. Absorbent core consists of two layers of naturally b...leached needle-punched cotton that will not bunch or shift over time; with the first wash and dry, core will "fluff" up like a cloth diaper prefold does; protects clothing and floor from a small- to mid-sized pee, and keeps a large pee from soaking everything much better than Gerber training pants (which have a single layer polyester core). Great for potty training and elimination communication, Tiny Trainers training pants have a double-layer crotch to keep your floors and clothing relatively dry while still enabling your child to feel wet when an accident or "miss" occurs. Low-rise, anatomically-correct fit for babies, young toddlers, and older toddlers who typically have a tiny waist and protruding belly; tag-free and itch-free. The Tiny Trainers rise is slightly higher than that of our Tiny Undies to compensate for the lack of stretch in the padded area of the training pants, and to enhance the ease of pulling up/pushing down. For nighttime training pant use, simply cover one or two layers of Tiny Trainers with a wool diaper cover or wool longies or shorties for the ultimate in bed protection. For extra protection in the daytime, cover one pair of Tiny Trainers with a wool, fleece, or cotton flannel diaper cover or longies/shorties, or use two layers of Tiny Trainers. Unisex design and colors make them reusable for multiple children (and solid colors make it easy to spot wetness); waistband and leg gussets are flexible and soft, making them easy to pull up and down, without being oversized or baggie, which makes Tiny Trainers comfortable to wear all the time; see size chart in images for correct fit. 08.01.2022 So I thought it’s about time I did an ‘about me’ post. My name is Natalie and I’m a certified EC and potty learning consultant through Go Diaper Free. I’m 32 and I have a partner named Ben and a daughter Rory who is 19 months currently. Prior to this I was in natural health as a colon hydrotherapist. It was a shitty job but I loved it! So many puns to be had but I’ll stop there. I loved my work and helping my clients with their health it was only natural for me to step Int...Continue reading

05.01.2022 When it comes to toddlers and babies they are constantly trying to make sense of their world. Reading books is a great way to introduce your LO to concepts, routines and programs. For instance, getting dressed is a program. Getting dressed requires things to happen in a sequence such as underwear first, then pants, then top (or vice versa) then socks then shoes. If your child is not surrounded by other children for them to copy (this is called modeling) reading books together... which display the program from the child’s point of view can be most helpful in presenting to the child the correct way to carry out certain programs. Our LO‘S naturally want to imitate what they see around them and what they see us do or in this case what is done by the characters in the story. These board books about pottying show all the steps required to use the potty independently including washing hands and going back to play, all from the child’s perspective and they can be introduced as early as 6 months old. #tinypotty #montessori #toddlerprograms #pottylearning #pottyhack #pottytraining #EC #eliminationcommunication #nightpottu #godiaperfree #godiaperfreecoach See more
