19.01.2022 The numbers are in! Over the two days of the air mauritius Bonjour Perth Festival 2019, we... Used more than 4000 reusable beer and wine glasses from GO2CUP ...at the bar, instead of sending that many (or more) single-use ones to landfill Diverted 1,520kg of organic waste from landfill with the help of WRITE Solutions Australia. This food waste will be turned into compost to grow new produce, rather than breaking down in landfill and emitting carbon dioxide and methane (where the emissions would have been equivalent to 2888kg of CO2, or about 258 days of electricity consumption for one household) Collected 2400kg of recycling (equivalent to 2670 days of standard household electricity and 10,255 gallons of oil saved) We are so proud of these massive steps to minimise the festival's impact! MERCI to everyone who supported these initiatives, including (but not limited to) the food stalls who used compostable packaging, attendees who brought their own containers and used the three-bin system, our sustainability volunteers who had the lovely job of sorting through the bins to make sure everything was in the right place, and our dedicated sustainability coordinator Frédéric! : Julie Casali Photography
