22.01.2022 Hey, GKs I have emailed our members explaining some delays and changes due to the COVID 19 situation. However, in light of Scomo's announcement regarding small groups of under 10 and the nature of our training we should still be able to get training in. Just organising a field/park and some new days and times for next week.

19.01.2022 Great session with the lads yesterday. Apologies for the disrupted last few weeks in saying that 2020 can piss right off Anyways I digress yesterday the boys and I worked on one of the hardest challenges to face the modern keeper. We worked on cutbacks and how to approach them. Like all my coaching I give my players/athletes the basic principles and then put them in situations to allow them to make the decision on what's best and/or what could we do better. Was is it a sto...p starty session... yeah sure but by the end, the boys got the gist of it. Are they good at it No, not yet and nor will they be for a while. Goalkeeping is about playing, playing, playing, and getting in positions often enough you can rely on learned knowledge from all your coaches. This is a quick mini visional PowerPoint representation of what we did obviously with a lot more instruction and Q and As. The big take-home message is that at any stage the keeper has to be ready for a shot from the person storming down the line for a cut to the strikers coming in. Nothing is guaranteed so they must always be ready and set between themselves the ball and the middle of the goal. Remember group sessions are $25 each on a Monday afternoon time will depend on age and competency (430pm or 530pm). Individual Sessions are $55 for the hour PM Details guys if interested

16.01.2022 When you miss being goalkeeper

16.01.2022 This is the unfortunate game West Ham narrowly missed out on stealing a point against Liverpool. For the people who did not see this game, West Ham were in the lead twice and lost the game to a pretty bad goalkeeper error. However if you scroll to 2:06 in this video you will see the error, but more importantly I want young keepers to look at Fabianski reaction to his error. He made a mistake, but his reaction to me is excellent. He gets up, sure he is disappointed but he get...s on with it. Too many young keepers make a mistake and that's it, that's the end for them, they lose their cool and cannot get refocused. What happens if this happens in the first minute? Does that mean you're done for the game? It can't be. We stuff up, it happens we are human, however do not throw the baby out with the bath water you can still be integral for your team. When an outfield player stuffs up they usually have back up. However when a keeper stuffs up it usually means a goal. If you can't handle that, don't be a keeper. That's what makes us special. We have to learn to get over it and be better next action. 13.01.2022 Ok starting Monday the 27th of July. Under 12 and 13 boys will train at Murray from 430pm for 1 hour Under 14 girls and above are welcome. $25 each per session. Under 14 boys and above and 15 girls and above from 530pm at $25 per person. ... One session a night at this stage until numbers dictate more. 4 max per session so please make sure you PM us you are interested. Just one night a session at this point. We are back guys

11.01.2022 If Dean Henderson isn't England's number 1 for the Euros, then the game has gone mad. This is a bit of keeper porn here, a triple save by Dean Henderson against Norwich on the weekend. Just this Friday gone at my clinic we worked on crosses and when you have called "AWAY" retreat to the line to give yourself every chance to make a save. 11.01.2022 Due to all the covid ups and downs, our car being stolen and variety of other things that has gone on in the last month. We have decided to restart the Gk clinic's as of next week. 07.01.2022 In this clip go 21sec in and you will see Edison make an incredible save off Benzema's header. The reason I wanted to show this was to highlight Edisons positioning as the ball is crossed. He realises he cannot come for the ball as he has an active defender in his way so he retreats to the line of his goal allowing him more time to react if there is a header or shot on goal. That little movement is what allows him to make the save low down to his right. 04.01.2022 An awful 2020 season of EPL if we are honest. Congratulations Liverpool as much as it pains me to say it. You were by far the best team. What I thought was the best thing the 2020 season brought to our attention, was the maturity and skill set seen in Dean Henderson the Sheffield Utd keeper as the best in the EPL if not world. Not far behind him is Nick Pope who had a stellar year and of course Kaspa Schmeichel was consistent and class. Here is a video of big Dean's best o...f this season.
