23.01.2022 Another beautiful piece of Messmate is taking shape as a waterfall, hallway, table for a customer. I’ll start pouring the epoxy to creat the river tomorrow. #hardwood #timber #melbourne

23.01.2022 Finished another piece this week. This time it is a paddle shaped, serving platter made from Australian, hardwood (Blackbutt). Finished in a natural plant oil. Hope you enjoy!

22.01.2022 I received three new colours today to add to my collection. I’m doing a test chopping board and I went for an adventurous colour. Do you like?

21.01.2022 Did a deep pour today with clear epoxy resin to create the river on what will become a waterfall hall table made from Messmate (an Australian, hardwood timber).

20.01.2022 This is a cook top cover that covers your cook top so that you increase your bench space and have a beautiful chopping board (for food prep) at the same time. This one is a gorgeous piece of Australian, hardwood, timber (blackbutt) handmade at Goatwood.com.au.

19.01.2022 I’ve had so many orders for chopping boards and/or serving platter that I’ve had to knuckle down and try to finish as many as possible as fast as possible. Here is one from today (before and after oiling). It’s going to live on someones smoker! It’s a piece of Australian, Blackbutt, hardwood, timber 690x340x30mm.

17.01.2022 Kitchen Island bench/Butchets Block that I’ve been making for an interstate customer. The structure and top are made up of 9 different Australian, hardwood, timbers and the drawer is recycled pine flooring. Featuring two towel rails, a knife rack, soft close drawer and slatted storage rack. Let me know your thoughts?

17.01.2022 I had a customer ask me for a couple of serving platters that were a little like a bowl. Not finished yet but taking shape these are about 750mm across and 50mm thick with a 25mm bowl which has taken a lot of the weight out of them. Made from a slab of Hoop Pine.

17.01.2022 Now that we are getting some of our personal freedoms back I’ve been able to organise shipping and make crates to send two kitchen island benches interstate. Bon voyage!

15.01.2022 I worked on so many projects today! Only managed to finish one but moved quite a few forwards

14.01.2022 Picked up four absolute gems of pieces of Messmate today. All 3m long and around 600mm wide and 50mm thick. These two babies are going to become waterfall hall tables and are both commissions. The one on the right has just had its first round of clear, epoxy resin added.

13.01.2022 I’m in the final stages of completing this 3x1-1.2m dining table with a matching bench seat. This table is a stunning, huge piece of Australian, hardwood (Blackbutt) it features two live edges, a black river and four, Vic Ash, stitches. It’s really going to make a statement in its brand new home! If you want something special get in touch?

13.01.2022 I have my helper/supervisor with me in the workshop today. We are dog sitting this weekend and Reggie (the corgi) is making sure I don’t slack off.

03.01.2022 I have to say I don’t like shipping. It kind of defeats the point of using recycled materials and having to build creates and wait around all day and then the truck doesn’t turn up.
