25.01.2022 The beginning of the school year brings together a range of emotions for both parents and children. We came across this beautifully written status last week which captures the moment perfectly for a new prep mum. Have a read and feel to comment what emotions "back to school" raises in your families. Hi my name is Sally and I'm a first time prep mum. I'm feeling mega excited, happy, blessed, thankful, super dooper proud, nostalgic, super pumped and in love with my girl but at... the same time nervous, worried, hesitant, sad, anxious, lost and overwhelmed........emotional much?! I'm sure Evie is feeling confused and wonders what all the fuss is about. In a weeks time the education world is taking my sidekick away! No longer do I have her or am I responsible for her 24/7! My baby, my laughter, my entertainer, my Broadway star, my little actress, my smart and witty girl!! I mean I'm totally excited for her, but my baby, our golden child!! The wealth of knowledge and life experiences awaits you. I am scared for her and me! I return to that life again, I'm totally going back to school myself! The morning rush and arguments, drop offs, sports days, library days, forgotten lunches, pick ups and not to mention the friendship dramas! And these days the ever growing bullying oh my oh my, and I thought I saw the last of school forever in '96......... They don't mention this in the pregnancy books! On the flip side your gonna make lifetime memories!! Giggling fest with your girlfriends, sleepovers, cheating tests, drawing on your mates favourite pencil case, lunch orders, school fetes and school concerts. I can't wait to hear your daily adventures and antics. I'm trying to cram everything in before next week, dinner dates, zoo and beach visits, shopping dates, Mum and Dad time (which I highly recommend, hilarious fun!), I'm totally gonna miss you!!! I will now only see you at the worst time of days, I imagine your gonna be exhausted and crabby at 4pm. On the other hand you are sooooo bloody ready! These holidays you've grown, we've seen attitude enter our lives, the talking back, yelling, the 20 peculiar questions and non stop talking, why? How? When? FULL ON CHILD!!! Take her and fill her brain with stimulation I can't give her please!!!! Since October everything has been leading up to this day, Evie's first day of school. I'd be lying if I didn't say it's been at the back of my mind in the lead up to Christmas and throughout the holidays. I've been trying to hide the emotions, 'can't let her know, can't let her see' they say.........bejesus it's hard!!!!!!! I wanna hold her tight and never let her go but at the same time kick her out the door!!!! Evie a whole new world awaits you go for your life!! Know I'll always be your sidekick and that we love you So to all the new preppy mums this year good luck! You have done an amazing job and I'll see you at the tea and tissues session after drop off!!!!!.............can we take wine????......

11.01.2022 On Wednesday we are heading back to Parkwood Green Primary School. This is the third time The Feeling Friends have worked with the children and staff at this fabulous school. It is great to see such dedication to Social and Emotional Learning. Stay tuned for some pictures of our program at work.

04.01.2022 Great day yesterday at Serpell Primary School in Templestowe. The Preppies were very engaged and we loved hearing about things that make them feel happy! :)
