24.01.2022 I just had a conversation with a business whose Instagram account with 41,000 followers has been taken over by hackers. All their followers gone, their customer base - argh!! Two lessons here 1) are all your eggs in one basket? You don’t own Instagram or Facebook - what’s your marketing backup if these sites go under or you’re hacked etc. I always encourage businesses to start an email database, something you own and have control over. 2) how’s your security on your social me...dia accounts? A big watch out is are these accounts linked to an old email address you no longer use on a regular basis? If so you won’t see any of the warnings - this is what the hackers try to access first which makes it much harder for you to get your account back if you are hacked as Facebook will want to communicate with you via the email address linked to your account. A little overwhelming, I’m happy to talk through any of these things. Take care. See more

21.01.2022 If your Facebook page has been wiped today and your freaking out - stay calm, report the issue through Facebook help and if you need to talk about it feel free to call me. I've heard some pages are coming back. It's a wild day in Facebook land today! https://about.fb.com//changes-to-sharing-and-viewing-news/

20.01.2022 An important read for those posting on their business social media channels (and creating website content). https://www.linkedin.com//why-making-your-content-more-ac/

18.01.2022 Yes, even if your business is not able to operate at the moment you can still be active on social channels. Staying in touch with your community, customers and suppliers. Staying top of mind. Happy to chat if you need direction.

15.01.2022 If you run a business in the food space and you are still in operation I’d urge you to update your status on all your social media channels. This is where people are looking to understand 1) are you open 2) which days 3) what time 4) what can I order... 5) how do I order 6) how do I receive the goods I’m shocked at how many businesses are not doing this. Social media is where people feel they can get the most up to date information. People understand it maybe more challenging to update your website so they will look to your socials to get information. If it isn’t updated people will assume you are not operating - make it easy for people to still buy from you. Make it clear, it doesn’t have to be fancy or pretty, just focus on information sharing. Happy to chat or help - [email protected] Take care x See more

08.01.2022 I've been speaking with tourism operators about what their social media posts may look like POST Covid-19. Although not social media related directly, this article raises some points that are valuable for operators to consider once operations begin again. How you will demonstrate/communicate some of these business tweaks across your social channels? https://www.studio-s2.com.au//creating-post-covid-19-resp/

03.01.2022 Today I'm celebrating 10 years of my business. It was 15 February 2011 when I registered my business, Go Future Media, and I've never looked back. The vision was so clear when I started, to help those in the tourism industry navigate the world of social media marketing. I largely still do that now, with a few other skills in the mix - and not just tourism but food brands & businesses too. Over these ten years I've worked with so many outstanding people who've supported various projects, clients, brands and events that have been delivered. Thanks to my clients but thanks especially to the support talent who make me look good - I'll save a slice of cake for you!
