25.01.2022 Collaboration to secure safe shelter for rough sleepers during Covid19 has shown what is possible. An important opinion piece by our friend David Pearson from the Australian Alliance to end Homelessness. We have participated in similar conversations over the past weeks about new ways to provide shelter for women escaping violence. We are with you David, as so many others in these sectors.. lets not waste this Crisis.

25.01.2022 The Premier of South Australia recently announced an Industry and Recovery Council for these times to support South Australia. The Council consists of 13 industry leaders, 12 men and one awesome Woman. Collab4Good is an organisation Sarah Gun co-founded with Moira WereWere and Amy Orange. Collab4Good is establishing the Heal and Hustle Council to pick up some of the gaps and to guide and inform our collective efforts as we move through this time. It will also ensure the ...diverse voices of society are consulted in the response and recovery to Covid19. We are looking for Heal and Hustle Council members that fit the following criteria: 1. Has experience of healing and hustling. We are using heal it its widest sense at a systems level for health, wellbeing, job creation. 2. Has collaboration as a default in their ways of working. 3. Has capacity, skills and desire to mobilise networks. There is room for one person called Ian (there are more Ian's than women on the current advisory group!), and 12 women. They will be selected to represent a cross section of our community and industry sectors. The role will be voluntary and we expect the Council to be in place for 12 months with no more than 4 meetings. In the first instance, the council will make a decision for one action to do collaboratively at the end of each meeting. Nominate yourself or someone else before April 15th by emailing [email protected].

24.01.2022 Menstrual taboo is a major contributor to gender inequality globally. It keeps young people away from school, impacts on social interaction and belonging to community, projected income and the decisions menstruators make across their lifetimes. In a year where we have all learnt so much about humanity, vulnerability and inequality, the time is now to dig to the core of the menstrual taboo. GOGO has started a #PeriodRevolution. The stories people are generously sharing in our survey are making us laugh and cry. This is an issue for all genders. I encourage you to add your voice and experience.

18.01.2022 GOGO is delighted to be making the B Corp South Australia Christmas party a wee bit special, and to be serving the delicious beverages of one of Adelaides newest B Corps - Ochre Nation (Team Unico) / Applewood Distillery! We first came across this crew at the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards when they won the Sustainability Award This is what the B Corp community is all about - creating global impact through business. We make decisions that have... a positive impact on workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. Just yesterday 500 B Corps publicly committed to reaching Net Zero by 2030! Were so excited to be part of this community, and growing our family in Adelaide! Thank you to Torrens University Australia and @dDon Dunstan Foundation for taking leadership and bringing us together. Weve got a goal to grow even more B Corps here in South Australia. Are you ready for your business to be a force good too? We want you to join us! Find out more here: https://www.bcorporation.com.au/

16.01.2022 A call out to all our SA networks: GOGO events is creating craft and activity packs for children from 3 years to 10 years of age, who are severely impacted by the current crisis and are already children at-risk. But we have a problem - all the usual stockists (school supplies, Kmart, Officeworks) are out of supplies.... So we are reaching out to our friends in our networks who are teachers or in the education system that may hold the key (or know the person who holds the key!) to a cupboard in a school or kindy that may contain any craft items, pencils, coloured paper, stickers, stencils, stamps, pop sticks etc - anything that we can put to good use? We can pay for goods, but we are happy (and most grateful) to receive them as donations. We ask at this stage that items are new or unused, but need NOT be in original sealed packets as we can collate and make the package look wonderful! Delivery or collection of goods ideally will be this Thursday 16th April between 1pm-4pm. Deliveries will be drive by to Sarah Guns home at Grange (via the back shed!). If you have goods to donate please DM GOGO events so we can know to expect you. If you need goods to be collected please also DM GOGO and we will make plans for gear to be collected. Last week we reached out to see if this approach could work and the response from one friend who is a teacher was: "I have a retreat cupboard that I keep stocked and I have the key - I will empty it tomorrow - this is a gift from our school, I know our headmaster will be very happy to gift these".. Thank you Dianne. We are starting with 300 children's packs. We will keep you up to date with how we progress. Thank you so much in advance, and thank you for sharing with your networks. GOGO team.

12.01.2022 Three of the last seven Saturdays have started early for five of our GOGO team (Board and Staff). We are completing a Racial Justice course offered through SheEO. The program is the work and wisdom of SheEO venture S.O.U.L Sisters, based the US. We have learnt so much in this short time - often uncomfortable but incredibly impactful. We have another 6 months of ahead. Bring it on as we have so much to learn. #racialjustice #equity #education #decolonisation #justice #peace For the Australians in the group, here is a great place to start...

12.01.2022 Theres an opportunity in every crisis! We have always been outside-the- thinkers at GOGO. We know events are already being cancelled, so were busy brainstorming ideas for how to keep community growing (so folks arent feeling isolated, even in isolation...) and were starting with a virus-inspired coffee! Seriously though, we need to create new ways for bringing people together without being in person, so we can keep our people in jobs. Theres never a more important ...time for innovation than when vulnerable community members are even further at-risk. So what are your ideas? How can we help you? Do you have money allocated for events that wont go ahead now? We can help you spend it for good by creating something great for you and your clients, and creating jobs at the same time. Lets get GO-GOing right now! Sarah Gun Janine Vella Nikkola Palmer

11.01.2022 GOGO Foundation's Inclusive Work Program Pilot Launches... GOGO events had a life-changing impact on many of the 85 vulnerable people we worked with from 2012 to 2018. We demonstrated that safe, meaningful, inclusive paid work experiences allowed our casual employees to identify as capable workers with plenty to offer the community and their employers. But the business model has always been challenging. Events are seasonal, irregular and the number of staff required for each ...Continue reading

11.01.2022 So events are No-go. It has been an interesting 6 weeks as we have learnt to accept, breathe, and listen to the universe as we make our way through his transformative time. It has been challenging and exciting to dig deep and search for what GOGO will look like in the months and years ahead. Maybe a new business will emerge, other iterations, full pivots - we are working through all of these thinking small, dreaming big and trusting we are awakening to a more equitable incl...usive world. And in amongst this deep transition it has been heartwarming to work with one of our special clients over the past 2 weeks to create activity packs for some of society's most disadvantaged families. 300 activity packs are now on their way to young children in special care. With wholesalers and stores depleted of stock, we put the call out to our clients, GOGO community, friends and neighbourhoods and this resulted in colourful plump packs of goodies that we would all be thrilled to receive. To our gorgeous sister SheEO Venture Grow Your Mind thank you for the beautiful Feeling Cards, and to Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC. - your craft activities are bound to be a hit. These packs will bring a little bit of joy to the children and families who receive them, and they are packed with love and kindness by our wonderful volunteers. Thank you to all involved.

10.01.2022 This morning our cup overflows! After 9 months of no events, last night’s South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards was so special. Just like the food industry, the event industry in SA has a strong sense of family and last night we were so delighted to be back together. 750 people for Covid-safe sit-down totally sumptuous meal by the incredible chefs and floor staff at Adelaide Convention Centre (Alex, Chris, Tara ), skilled and totally reliable AV team ...(Lachy and Charlie ), Jo Casson and her stunning performers and the best industry flash mob ever!, Callum and Themis from Sprout Cooking School & Health Studio hosting with charm and grace, and of course, my amazing beautiful GOGO team Janine and Anne, you Rock! We don’t normally drink at work, but this was time for celebration. Kathryn Pullman and Catherine Sayer, thank you for bringing us all back together to celebrate the resilient, generous and humble food and beverage industry is SA. You were the first organisation to embrace GOGO when we transitioned to a social enterprise in 2012, and your partnership has leveraged many wonderful events and employment opportunities for our team of people on the margins. It’s great to be back. See more

10.01.2022 Over the last few months we have had the great pleasure of working with the Westpac Foundation to plan the Changemakers Summit, a gathering of people within the Foundations network all working to create a more inclusive and equitable world through their business and organisations. The summit was held at Barangaroo last week. We worked with the wonderful event team to explore opportunities for the Summit to achieve its aims - collaboration, celebration and connection. We sta...rted with collaboration and in the months leading to the Summit, GOGO events, Wake by Reach Foundation and Studio A co-designed the guest experience and the outcomes were beautiful. Harry from Wake by Reach hosted and facilitated the whole Summit. This young man read the room with skill and perception, kept us on track and on time, and his graciousness and leadership allowed us to be vulnerable and open with each other. Celebration - we celebrated each persons unique abilities, and the amazing Studio Artist, Greg Sindel prepared a personalised lanyard for each attendee celebrating their awesomeness. Studio As artists also created the gorgeous table decor and the awards! They were totally fabulous. We also wanted to connect - to each other and the the challenges we face, the hurdles we have to climb-over and the commitment we all share to our many causes. The panel discussions were brilliantSocial Changemakers were honest with their challenges and vulnerabilities, shared moments when they had dispraised and given up, and celebrated their wins. And then we danced (well we bootscoot Ed actually) and laughed, and celebrated together. It was wonderful to connect with new collaborators, catch up with my Social Change Alumni, and Westpac Foundation staff and business partners that have given so generously of their time and energy to GOGO over the past 3 years Thank you Westpac Foundation for 2 amazing days. Here are a few snippets of what we all put together...

04.01.2022 How extraordinarily blessed GOGO is to be a SheEO Venture and to experience the total love, support and generosity of this game-changing global community of female ventures and funders. After the zoom call today with all 53 ventures from Canada, US and NZ, an activator contacted me and gifted us seed funding to kickstart a project that was until a weeks ago a side-project for GOGO, that this crisis has now allowed us to focus on. The generosity of this gesture stopped me i...n my tracks. The project is to develop a commercial mechanism to end Period Poverty for children and young people in SA and beyond. This initiative will be socially and environmentally sound, and support women lead ventures sustainably producing sanitary products for women and girls. There are many collaborators on this project and we look forward to sharing details and inviting in more support and partners as the project develops. Vicki Saunders .. you are changing the world for the better, and not that you needed more evidence that you are making magic happen across the globe, but this is a little for you anyway.

04.01.2022 We are so excited about this!

04.01.2022 #Australiaonfire is the Call to Action I needed. For seven years at GOGO events we have adhered to our Social and Environmental Sustainability Policy. I thought we were tracking quite well doing our bit for the planet and people...we are a Social Enterprise, a founding member of Carbon Neutral Adelaide and a registered B-Corp. But I now know it has not been enough. Our good intentions, doing our best, reducing-reusing-recycling, trying to be waste free and creating an inclu...sive and safe work-place for those who dont get this opportunity is still causing harm! How? because it has been optional, and excuses from time to time have been acceptable, some things too hard and a fallback position of we can get it right next time. Not any more. So hoping it is not too late, I fully commit GOGO events and The GOGO Foundation to do no harm to our ecosystems and our environment. And after weeks of deep climate grief, this divine Firey from Mangoola Rural Fire Brigade shook me back to action, and hope, this morning. We have so many heroes to thank.

04.01.2022 Some happy news...

03.01.2022 Shall I push Create? We might be #physicallydistanced but our experience over the past 2 days is we are more than ever #sociallyconnected to our communities. Talking to our fabulous GOGO clients has reinforced that we will find new and wonderful ways to keep their communities connected and supported and celebrated for the rest of this year and beyond. They have told us GOGO has the creativity and sense of fun, along with the expertise to turn this crazy crisis into something really good for their communities and for the planet, and for our at-risk staff! Together weve got this covered !!

02.01.2022 We know that many many small businesses and social enterprises have been hard hit by the COVID crisis, and we recognise that female-founders are really feeling the pinch, with many falling through the gaps of stimulus support. Sarah Gun is a co-founder at Collab4Good along with Amy Orange and Moira Wereand together they decided to do something to help, and enabled a collaborative Committee of equally passionate SA business women to help us create the Collab4Good Resilience ...Fund to support South Australian female founders of small businesses and social enterprises who are experiencing hardship to apply for a no-strings gift of temporary financial relief. So they are kicking off their crowdsourced Fund with a goal to raise $5000 to open up applications for our hard-working SA female founders! Can you help? Every dollar counts. Based on a brief from our team you will be invited to create event design ideas and develop a creative presentation to clients in accessible digital formats. We have roughly 12 major events per year requiring this type of design work, with a turn around time of approximately 3 days.... 01.01.2022 Half the population has a period, and yet its still the source of inequality, shame and stigma Last year Sarah connected with Helen Connolly Commissioner for Children and Young People, and after hearing Helen speak was struck by the number of young people who cannot access or afford to buy the period products they need - in our own community! Since then Sarah and I have been getting up to speed on all things positive periods both locally and around the world. Weve been luc...ky enough to get input and feedback from the SheEO network, and to collaborate with other B Corps who are keen to support us in investigating a social enterprise solution! This has really stirred a passion in us, and were more motivated than ever to do something special to empower all women and girls. Want to help? We have collaborated with the Commissioner on what some solutions might look like, and the team has put together this fabulous website https://endperiodpoverty.com.au/ as a launching pad for all the things we could do as a community to end this problem. Today were asking people to support the Commissioner in giving young people a voice about this important issue. Please share this short survey amongst your networks (especially your young network!) to be filled out by 28th May. The data will be invaluable in developing thoughtful and sustainable solutions. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ppoverty Big thanks and keep up the great work, whatever youre up to right now!
