18.01.2022 Sharing email received from Hombu: Greetings from the Executive Committee of The 8th Karate-do Goju-kai Global Championships JAPAN 2022 Vice Presidents, Bloc Di...rectors, Branch Chiefs and Dojo owners of International Karatedo Gojukai Association, During the pandemic of COVID-19, we wish you stay in good health from the bottom of my heart. I understand everyone is suffering to deal with the situation. Here is to announce that Gohei Yamaguchi Shihan was selected as the Chairman of the executive committee of The 8th Karate-do Goju-kai Global Championships JAPAN 2022 alongside Hideki Wakasugi Shihan, the vice Asian bloc director, and Taketoshi Akao Shihan, the All Japan Gojukai secretariat as vice-chairmen. The 8th Karate-do Goju-kai Global Championships postponed to 2022. The situation in Japan, the hosting country, is quite severe. There are many tournaments and seminars that were canceled due to the pandemic of COVID-19. Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics affect us to book the venue. We would like to announce details that have been decided so far. Title of the event: The 8th Karate-do Goju-kai Global Championships JAPAN 2022 Duration Start:10th August 2022 End:14th August 2022 Venue: Chiba Port Arena (Main and Sub Arena) Address: 1-20, Tonyachou, Chuo-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Postal Code: 260-0025 *It is the same venue we had our first world championships We will work together with Goshi Yamaguchi, the president of IKGA and JKGA, vice presidents of IKGA, and bloc directors of IKGA. It is important to make decisions by looking thoroughly at the COVID-19 situation around the world. We place the utmost importance on the safety of all Gojukai friends. We do not wish to see some countries cannot attend due to a country’s situation on COVID-19. So we also think to cancel the event as an option when the infection status gets serious. As a hosting country, we would like to decide if the event takes place in 2022 or postpone it again by around August 2021. We will continue to have discussions with the president and vice presidents of IKGA on the decision. For now, we would like to make this announcement of our newly appointed positions and send a greeting to all of you. Thank you very much for your continuous support. We wish to see you all soon in person. Gohei Yamaguchi, the Chairman of the Executive Committee Hideki Wakasugi, the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee Taketoshi Akao, the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee
