12.01.2022 Life Interrupted Child Cancer Awareness 2020 DIPG This is one of the most deadly cancers.... About 20 Children are diagnosed a year in Australia. A diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is a brain tumour. Located in the pons (middle) of the brain stem. Median age of patients is approximately 6-7 years old. Short history of symptoms, experience rapid tumour progression There is no recognized treatment. Median survival range is from 8-11 months. None of them survive more than 5 years. Children are locked out of their bodies. Fully conscious but unable to move, speak, eat or even smile. They all die after tremendous suffering. There is No Cure! 09.01.2022 Life Interrupted Child Cancer Awareness 2020 Hepatoblastoma Liver cancer is rare in children and teens. It accounts for 1-2% of pediatric cancers. Types of ped...iatric liver cancer include hepatoblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver. * Hepatoblastoma (HB) is a type of liver cancer usually seen in infants and young children under age 3. It is the most common pediatric liver cancer. * Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) occurs in older children and teens. It is very rare in young children. It is usually diagnosed in children ages 12-14 years. * Undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver (UES) is a rare liver cancer that usually develops in children between the ages of 6-10 years. It is the 3rd most common type of pediatric liver cancer after hepatoblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. It makes up about 15% of pediatric liver cancers. Signs and symptoms of liver cancer may depend on the size of the tumor and if it has spread outside the liver. But something truly amazing is this wonderful young lady Charli who fought and won her childhood cancer battle and now is raising money for the other kids. She has been selling the Ollee biscuits made by Doris and Jahmara. Charli has raised an amazing $1300 for our foundation.
