24.01.2022 Баллада о любви. Ballad of Love, Roxanne Phoenix, by Leo Schwartzberg. A month ago, accidentally, online, I met a talented poet - Leo Schwartzberg. It appeared that one of his lyrics, The Requiem, from Marina Tsvetaeva, is already in my repertoire. And this is our new creation - Ballad of Love. This ballad was inspired by the song of Vladimir Vysotsky. It is a new version of the old story: Leo Schwartzberg and Roxanne Phoenix - Ballad of Love. Recorded in Gary Owen hotel in ...Rozelle, Sydney. Enjoy! Ballad of Love Back then, when the Worldwide Flood was subsiding, The water to the shores could barely reach. Then from the lacy foam came out striding Big Love, and it climbed up onto the beach. Love mixed with air and then went into hiding Until the time would come to leave its niche. And naïve folks and those are still around To inhale that Love mixture, they are bound. Expecting no reward, no reprimanding, And thinking they each other by chance meet, All of a sudden, they just hit the beat, While breathing in sync on romantic striding Only feelings that are truly deep Will remain afloat like ocean ships. If you realize that you’re in love You’ve received godsend from the above! And there’ll be lots of wanderings and travels The Land of Love is truly a great land! And it will test its shiny knights in trials, Expect them to be strong and never bend. It will require painful separations, And take away one’s sleep, and peace, and friends ... But those possessed ones couldn’t be made to sway, They have agreed the highest price to pay. At any cost and they would risk their being To save from breaking and to keep for years ahead That magic undistinguishable thread Stretched between them and nurturing their feelings Fresh winds intoxicated chosen ones, It knocked them down and raised them from the dead. And if you did not love under the Sun, You neither lived nor breathed, as it is said! But you won’t hear from those who sadly drowned In their sweet love, no matter how you call ... Accounted in legends, they were downed In bloody struggles paid the highest toll. To those, who by the Holy Love were crowned, We’ll light up candles to their raving souls. Their voices will be merging to the beat, And in spring flowers their tender souls shall meet, And breathe in harmony, like in a verse, Meet with a sigh on high mountain ridges, On river crossings and on tallest bridges, At all crossroads of our universe... For all lovers, I’ll spread grassy fields, Let them sing in their dreams and their lives! If I breathe it means love is my shield! I’m in love and it means I’m alive!
