25.01.2022 Fabulous day today at our Bring A Friend Day with 90 ladies learning to play the game & more importantly, enjoying the friendship that golf brings. Huge thank you to my helpers, Lisa Dilks, Bev Garvey, Marg Walford, Elly McGar, Lois Lois Cooper, Robyn Bruhl, Barb Bristow, Olivia Killer & Janice Hancock for your much appreciated time. 22.01.2022 Hi Ladies, I’m excited to announce that I have accepted an offer to be the Participation Officer, Qld for Golf Australia. In this new role I will deliver, facilitate and support a wide range of participation programs throughout Qld, giving me the opportunity to continue to grow the game, particularly for women, as I have loved doing here at Windaroo through my Golf Fore Women Program. I will still conduct my Clinics and lessons to the end of June. I’m finishing up at the end of this week and will be having a drink at the club from 5pm Friday if anyone would like to pop in.

18.01.2022 One of our regular Clinic girls & my dear friend Wendy Child is campaigning to desperately allow her husband to home quarantine - after surgery on his stage 4 brain cancer was undertaken by a specialist in Sydney )there was no other choice)...Gary now requires intensive treatment in Queensland. The family are desperate to allow Gary the dignity of his treatment for a tough road ahead. After exhausting all avenues, including Government, Opposition, Mediators.... A Current Aff...air has taken up their fight. Their story is to be aired tomorrow- please show support by sharing this post, watch the story and contact your local members to try and push this further! Below is Wendy’s plea of her friends... please help them and share... Hi please understand this is once again a group text as we need everyone’s help. You know we are fighters and will never give up and will do whatever it takes to win so yesterday I contacted Channel 9 A Current Affair in Brisbane and early this morning I got a call. Tomorrow night our story will go to air in Brisbane. I wasn’t prepared for Gary to be put in front of cameras so we declined them filming him but what we did do to personalize the story was let Josh take video of Gary and I at the apartment. Gary was comfortable with that and we got the footage necessary. NSW camera crew then interviewed me in a park not far from the apartment and Josh stayed with Gary. We also took footage outside the hospital. The interview was long and draining but I got through it. No doubt they will edit it greatly as it went for about 45 minutes. We had to take this route as we are desperate to be given permission to home quarantine and not be quarantined in a hotel room for two weeks as Gary urgently needs to begin radiation and chemotherapy and it is the best way for him to recover from the major surgery he has already undergone and keep him in the best of health physically and mentally for the grueling radiation and chemotherapy to come. We need your help we need you to tell everyone you know to watch it and then light up the phones at A Current Affair and more importantly for everyone to ring Palaszczuk’s office and express your views on getting us home Quarantine. We will be in hotel quarantine by the time it goes to air but hoping and praying that the interview will give the government a kick up the butt and we can move to home quarantine quickly. Bert Van Manen , federal member for Forde ( our electorate ) also took up our plight today and was passing on to our Prime Minister and the Federal Minister for Health this afternoon. We have given this everything we have to get the only acceptable result. Together we will get through this. We are strong. We will not give up. Love and hugs from us both

10.01.2022 Were pleased to announce that former Olympian, Liz Brett will join us for the fourth webinar in our free series this Wednesday 24th June at 3pm. Liz was part of the Australian Womens Volleyball Team that competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. As part of the lead up to the Olympics, Liz and her teammates trained six days a week. This was a gruelling schedule to ensure they were ready for the pressure of the highest level of competition. Liz will be sharing some valuable tips on how not to let the pressure of competition get to you. PM me if you'd like to join us.

07.01.2022 Today I caught up with a wonderful lady that has been my idol & inspiration since my early years playing hockey for Easts & Qld, then later starting my career a...s a PGA member. Daphne Mary Pirie was a nationally ranked Australian athlete, hockey player, golfer and a world-ranked Masters Athlete. She was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to Hockey & was the first female vice-president of the Queensland Olympic Council and also received the International Olympic Committee Women and Sport trophy for Oceania. Daph was named a Queensland Great on Queensland Day and received an Order of Australia for her services to sports administration, hockey and as an advocate for women and girls in sport.
