25.01.2022 Thinking about food? Me too. Good food, made with whole grains, real flavour, no weird stuff. Hope to see you at the #CastlemaineFarmersMarket tomorrow. #Goodnesspremixes #knowwhereyourfoodcomesfrom #stonemilling #smallbatchmilling #wholegrainflours #supportlocal #buylocal #localbusiness #smallbusiness #harcourtvic #doinggreatthings #profitsstayhere

24.01.2022 Fabulous article about the joy of whole grain flours. Enjoy. Both the article and the flours!

24.01.2022 Goodness Flour will be at the Castlemaine Weekly Market tomorrow! Woohoo! Limited quantities of small-batch, wholegrain organic flour including barley, brown rice, buckwheat, emmer, millet, oat, rye, scout wheat, spelt and yellow pea flour. All will be freshly milled and available in 250g, 500g and 1kg. Biscuit, cake and muffin premixes filled with goodness will also be available. Made with fresh, organic wholegrain flours and ingredients you can feel good about no additives, gums, preservatives, or weird processed stuff. Made by hand, with love and care. And, a small range of unmilled whole grains for home milling - or just to cook and eat whole because they’re wonderful, organic and nourishing.

23.01.2022 Excellent! So pleased you like it Wendy Hargreaves! Super excited to hear how you go with the flours too. Thank you so much for helping to spread the whole grain love!

23.01.2022 Still time to celebrate the wonder of an Australian festive season with cherries! Not just any cherries, but locally grown Blackwood Orchard cherries. So good. The Chocolate Cherry Cake mix is made with biodynamic spelt from Burrum Biodynamics, freshly ground in small batches, here in Harcourt, by me! It’s combined with organic cocoa, and Whittaker’s Dark Ghana chocolate, which is all the things a beautiful chocolate should be ethical, smooth, intensely flavoured and dark..., of course. All you need to add is butter, a couple of eggs and milk. I’ll have samples for you to taste at the Castlemaine Farmers Market tomorrow (Wednesday). #blackwoodorchard #WhittakersAU #burrumbiodynamics #castlemainefarmersmarket #localandethical

22.01.2022 Apple & Cinnamon Cake just out of the oven, ready for tastings at the Bendigo Farmers’ Market today. Fresh Harcourt Golden Delicious apples with very special organic cinnamon from The Spice Mistress, just down the road in Lockwood South. Reckon we live in the best part of the world. Only a few of these premixes on board today though.... #bendigofarmersmarket #thespicemistressonline #howluckyarewe #buylocaleatlocal

22.01.2022 Double celebration of autumn this week with wonderful Harcourt apples and pears. Pink Lady Apples are back. Woohoo. So, the Apple Muffin is back! It feels pretty exciting to coming back through the seasons on a full circle. Bit sentimental about this one it was one of the first Goodness Premixes. The Nashi, Ginger and Sunflower Cake made for Henry of Harcourt using their lovely Nashi earlier in the season worked well. Nashi are finished now, but the Corella Pears are just... starting. And so, we have a new version as a Goodness Premix. We tried it over the weekend, and everyone gave it the thumbs up, so here it is reinvented as the Pear and Ginger Cake. And yes, the sunflower seeds are still included because they add a special something. There’s a lovely sense of continuity in the seasons - our ornamental Pistachio trees are the most intense shade of red, the grapevines are doing their wonderful autumn thing and the Pink Lady Apples from Langdale Orchards are as lovely as ever. Back at the Markets again this week. Looking forward to it! Don’t forget we’re back on Western Reserve in Castlemaine again. And both Markets are on Winter Trading Hours now. #castlemainefarmersmarket #bendigofarmersmarket #howluckyarewe #buylocaleatlocal #langdaleorchards #henrycider See more

19.01.2022 Fye and his sister, Hang, grow the most beautiful pistachios on their farm in Wedderburn. They’re grown without chemicals and hand shelled. Fresh, they are a gorgeous treat (no they’re not nuts, but rather seeds related to cashews!) And they are absolutely perfect on top of the Lemon, Ginger & Pistachio cake. which will be available at the Castlemaine Farmer’s Market on Wednesday and (Goodness Flour’s very first) Bendigo Farmer’s Market on Thursday.

17.01.2022 Sincere thanks to everyone who bought a Harvest Angel. Goodness Flour matched all contributions and the donation has been sent to the National Centre for Farmer Health. Feels good to find a small practical way to thanks to those who grow our food and to acknowledge that farming, especially in Australia, is a tough gig. https://www.facebook.com/ncfarmerhealth #regenerativeagriculture #seedsovereignty #smallscalefarming

16.01.2022 Been a pretty lovely summer in our valley so far. Some rain. Not too hot. Amazing sunsets. Things have just started to warm up though and the sun has a real bite now. A sure sign that it’s zucchini time! Which means it’s time for a new premix. Delighted to be working with Mel, Sas and Ruby from Gung Hoe Growers on this one. I ducked out to the farm this morning with the samples. We spent a few minutes eating zucchini bread together. Declared it a success. I came back with a ...box of fresh zucchinis, in a whole range of shapes and colours, and spring onions that Mel pulled while I held the box. So, a new premix at the Castlemaine and Bendigo Farmers Markets this week - Zucchini Bread with the most gorgeous fresh zucchinis and spring onions from Gung Hoe Growers, stoneground spelt and millet flour, fresh rosemary from the garden, home-made za’atar and organic yeast flakes. No fillers, no ‘e’ numbers, no weird stuff. If you’re quick, you can try before you buy . I’ll have samples #castlemainefarmersmarket #bendigofarmersmarket #gunghoegrowers #hofcoop #localorganic #howluckyarewe #harcourtcollaborates

16.01.2022 Happily, fresh wholegrain flours and premixes filled with goodness make excellent Christmas gifts!

15.01.2022 Oh this is going to be a treat. Nok's Rice Paper Rolls really are sensational! Light, bright and bursting with fresh healthy flavour. Can't live on cake alone...

13.01.2022 So very good to read about ‘record crops’ and ‘bumper harvests’ this year. I remember looking at Tania and Steve’s beautiful crops at Burrum Biodynamics about a month ago. Lovely as it was, I don’t think I was cut out to be a farmer. They’re made of sterner stuff I drove away from their farm with my heart in my mouth, thinking about all the promise and how incredibly easily things can go wrong. I’d be a nervous wreck. But they do it bravely and calmly. This season, we’re f...eeling very thankful and the Harvest Angel money will be going to The National Centre for Farmer Health for anyone who hasn’t had the blessing of a good harvest, or just to put away for a rainy day or a day when rain really is needed. If you’d like to buy an Angel, I’ve added her to the shop. She has a special code so that we can collect any money raised, make a contribution from Goodness Flour and send it NCFH for wherever it may be needed. Sincere thanks to those who’ve already put money in the jar! Oh, and Goodness Flour will be at the Castlemaine Farmers Market tomorrow and the Bendigo Farmers Market on Thursday and the Castlemaine Monthly on Sunday. #castlemainefarmersmarket #bendigofarmersmarket #SortedbyClareFountain #burrumbiodynamics See more

11.01.2022 While others groan at the thought of Christmas, I love it! They might have snow in Europe, but we have CHERRIES! So, in celebration we have a new premix Chocolate Cherry! With gorgeous Merchant Cherries from Suzie and Col Pickering at Blackwood Orchard, Harcourt https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=blackwood%20orchard Made with freshly milled biodynamic spelt flour, brown sugar, the very best dark chocolate and fresh cherries, this is an easy cake to make. 11.01.2022 Happy New Year! Hope you’ve had a wonderfully happy festive season filled with love, laughter, good health and CAKE! So, how about Lemon Barley Cake to celebrate the start of the new year? Tomorrow, I’ll be preparing extra premixes, ready for the #castlemainefarmersmarket on Sunday. Here’s how we roll... The raw sugar for the syrup has already been packed by hand earlier this week. Tomorrow I’ll mill the wonderful new season barley from #burrumbiodynamics on a stone mill - ...wholegrain, biodynamic fresh flour. Then I’ll, make the flour blend for each premix (freshly ground black pepper, no refined sugar, no preservatives, no E numbers and no fillers!) Each carry bag will be packed with two fresh garden lemons from Jodie and Dave’s tree at #blumeshistoricbakery, a recipe card, a piece of bleach-free baking paper and a bamboo skewer to pierce the top of the cake before you pour over the syrup. Finally, just before I leave for the Market, I’ll pick a couple of rosemary sprigs from the garden for each premix pack, wrap them in damp paper towel and pack them in a compostable cello bag, sealed with a rubber band. All you need to add is good quality olive oil, a couple of eggs and buttermilk. (I love #lardass.) Super easy. Kids can make it. Even Dads can make it. Oh, and yes, there will be samples for you to taste at the Market on Sunday, but you’ll need to come early. See more
