24.01.2022 Hi Everyone, As you know, sometimes social media can be used in ways that can be harmful to both adults and children. Today we’ve been made aware of reports that some of the big social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok are being used to lure children into watching disturbing content.... There is a video currently being shared across social media platforms which when opened has some very graphic and distressing images. While the social media sites are working to remove it, we encourage you to step up your normal vigilance to ensure your children are not exposed to any inappropriate content. Stay safe

23.01.2022 Ladies and gents this is the moment you’ve waited for.... We are ready, are YOU ready? WELCOME BACK

Olivia will now be Educational Leader, working full time. Also a friendly reminder that we are celebrating Halloweek which means we will be dressed up everyday this week. 21.01.2022 Dear families, As you know we are waiting on more detailed information from the State and Federal Governments about the impact of Stage 4 restrictions on our centre. We expect to know more tomorrow but in the meantime here’s some information on our plans.... What is likely to happen this week: At this stage we plan to open as usual on Thursday and Friday for eligible children Once we have more information on who will be permitted to send their children to our centre we will be in touch but if you believe your family is likely to be a ‘permitted worker’ your child can attend as normal. Here are a few things we can be sure of: If your child is not permitted to attend for the next 6 weeks your gap fees will be waived and all direct debit arrangements paused It will be important to keep your child’s booking with us during this time as it ensures we still receive Government funding so that we can pay wages and be ready to welcome your family when the restrictions are lifted We will apply for more absences for your child if you are concerned will exceed the current 42 days of CCS allowable absences From Monday 10th August (unless we are instructed by the government to do otherwise): We will be accepting children from ‘permitted workers’ and those who need extra support at this time Our strict hygiene rules including temperature checks and foyer drop-off and pick-ups will continue Our centre team will offer remote learning for children who are not able to attend the centre with educator time being offered on-line and even more home learning resources being made available through Goodstart@Home Thanks again for your continuing support during this difficult and uncertain time. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me with any questions or concerns. Sarah, Olivia and team

21.01.2022 I Spy with my little eye something beginning with......S Shadows!!! How to play......... Hi Everyone, With stage 4 restrictions upon us I thought we could have a little fun on our daily exercise (Outdoor time to wear out the kids ) I thought we could start an eye spy game. Today I will post a photo of something we found on our walk. Then someone else can post a pic of something starting with the same letter. To change the letter simply find the same item as the original pic then find another item and post both photos. So for example; today we found a pine cone. So the next person will need to find something starting with P or find a pine cone (post photo in comments)If you find a pine cone you can choose the next letter (found bark next letter is B etc...) and create a new Post with that photo, captioning it with I spy with my little eye something beginning with .... (new letter) I look forward in seeing what wonderful things we find in our local community x Ineke

11.01.2022 Happy Halloween everyone!

10.01.2022 Dear families, Tomorrow, Wednesday 2 September it’s Early Childhood Educators Day! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing team we have here at Chelsea Heights.... This has been a big year for everyone at our centre and we were hoping you would join us in celebrating this in a special way this year. Early Childhood Educators Day happens to coincide with the start of spring and what better way to show our appreciation than saying it with FLOWERS! We’d love to fill the centre with some springtime joy and ask our families to help us by bringing in some greenery or flowers in on the day or during the week, for our centre or for the educators in your child’s room. These could be from a shop, your garden or from the side of the road found on your walk they will surely put a smile on the faces of our educators! Maybe your little one would even like to create a card and draw flowers or a portrait of your favourite educator? Let your creativity run wild! Thank you so much for your support, we are looking forward to brightening up the day together with you!

08.01.2022 'THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?' On 10th of Sept 2020 Thursday, Goodstart Chelsea Heights is participating in R U OK? Day, which is a national event as a reminder to take time to check in on yourself and those around you every day. During these tough times we should encourage and support each other by building an R U OK? culture wherever we go..!!... We are providing information and support to all our educators on Employee Assistance Program (EAP) program which facilitated by GoodStart and has a dedicated helpline which helps in providing counselling or expert advice to deal with such situations and it's completely confidential so that they can express the feelings freely and gain benefit from expert advice and deal with their situations positively. We are also promoting and encouraging our educators to ask the three little magical words "R U OK...?" that can make a positive difference in someone’s life who could be anyone they know or come across whom they feel might need help. Please don't forget to ask!! R U OK...? For more information please visit the below website: http://www.ruok.org.au

06.01.2022 We can all make a difference in the lives of those who might be struggling by having regular, meaningful conversations about life 's ups and downs. If you feel like something’s not quite the same with someone you know there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re doing or saying - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them Are you OK? #RUOK #ruokday2020 #itsoktonotbeok
