25.01.2022 A sweet "Thank you" gift from one of our lovely families.

24.01.2022 Exploring Autumn The children in our Nursery Room have been enjoying lots of beautiful Autumn days outdoors. Also as a group the children collected leaves from outdoors to create an indoor Autumn experience. The children loved scrunching the leaves in their hands while feeling and looking at the different types of leaves and textures. Playing with the leaves also develops children's sensory development and is a relaxing method as children use their natural senses to explore through play.

23.01.2022 Kindergarten children exploring their feelings. Children have the opportunity to look in the mirror and use their expressive languages to describe their feelings. Then they could use a texta to draw on the makeup pads in different shapes.(pretend the pads are people’s faces and our faces have different shapes) Then children could use the droppers to colour the pads. They could either use one colour or experiment with colour mixing on the pads. Children practise their scientific thinking skills through colour mixing and teachers ask open ended questions such as ‘I wonder ... ‘ ‘What will happen if you put the dropper close to /far away from the pad?’ etc. in this process.

22.01.2022 Our Kindergarten children had their graduation ceremony today. A BIG congratulations to all our graduates. We wish you all the best. #class2020 #kindergraduation

22.01.2022 The Kindergarten children explored their feelings with plastic droppers, water with different colours and makeup pads. As an extension of it, we used some open ended resources such as buttons in different shapes, pipe cleaners, logs and foam shapes. Children were able to look at themselves in the mirrors and make self-portraits. Children were also able to express their feelings and create different faces such as happy, sad, angry and proud. The children also talk about the resources they used during this process such as ‘I used 2 buttons to create my eyes. I need logs for my eyebrow.

21.01.2022 Making a face with playdough In our newly setup playdough table in the Kindergarten Room, children are using playdough to make faces for different people. They compared the face they made to their friends', and they talked about the reason why they made such facial expressions.

21.01.2022 Last month the Kindergarten children found some seeds in the yard and they wanted to plant the seeds. They asked some questions about how to plant and take care of the seeds. So as a group they agreed to plant some seeds in their room and watch them grow. Therefore, a plant table was set up for children to observe the seeds growing and note down the change of the seeds everyday. Before the children planted the seeds, children made some prediction about how long they thought it would take for the seed to sprout. This learning experience helps children develop learning skills like observing, hypothesising, and inquiry. #watchmegrow #spring #stem

17.01.2022 Poppy flower painting for ANZAC Day The children in the Kindergarten room participated in an ANZAC Day art experience . ANZAC Day helps children to understand the life and times of Australia and its people. Learning through painting poppy flowers, the flower of remembrance, children start to understand the importance of this national day, and its role in building peace in communities today. #lestweforget

09.01.2022 The Toddler children enjoyed their new transport environment today. While enjoying this children engaged in conversations about road safety. The paintings displayed are created by children rolling the wheels of the car across the page.

08.01.2022 Do not lick this book is a fun interactive picture book, and a fascinating science lesson about microbes. Educators introduce Min to the children as a cartoon microbe, and encouraged them press the page with their finger to pick Min up and take her on a journey. It’s impossible not to follow the instructions to touch your teeth, clothes and belly button. The talkative microbes we meet are charming and mischievous, even after we find out that they are E.coli, streptococcus, an Aspergillus fungus and a corynebacterium. One pleasant side effect of reading this book may be that children will take washing their hands, bodies and clothes more seriously.
