13.01.2022 Meet our new Centre Director Dear Families, My name is Kirsty and I am relocating from the Gold Coast, Queensland. I originally grew up in the Lockyer Valley and I am looking forward to being apart of your beautiful community.... I have worked in the industry for over 6 years, hold my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working in a variety of leadership roles in both remote and metro services. Furthering my career from an 'Exceeding the National Quality Standards' service on the Gold Coast, I was extremely privileged to be offered the role as the Centre Director in a small community not-for-profit service in the Kimberley, Western Australia. My experience to date has been extremely rewarding and I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge to Dalby. I am extremely passionate about mentoring and supporting my fellow Educators to ensure we are providing high quality care for children of all ages with a focus on each individual child's learning journey. It is in the early years of development that we can really make a positive impact on children's lives. I aim to provide the Dalby community with an environment that is safe, positive, warm and welcoming. My door is always open and my goal is for all families to feel comfortable and supported to provide input and suggestions for our service to continue to reflect, grow and adapt to our changing world. Please come in and say hello, I look forward to meeting you all soon. Warm Regards, Kirsty

10.01.2022 Did you know that cold weather does not actually give us a cold? The Most Common Winter Myth Dispelled... My child will get sick if they play outdoors in the cold Most adults associate winter with getting colds and illnesses such as the flu. However, it is not exposure to the cold that cause these viruses. In fact, it’s likely to be increased through exposure to poorly ventilated indoor environments, where bacteria and viruses live. Although we remain aware of meeting our children's needs, we are passionate about continuing to encourage outdoor play in winter. It is important that children remain active in the cooler months so that they continue to build emerging skills that are crucial to their physical development. Children also gain much needed exposure to fresh air and Vitamin D, while avoiding bacteria and germs that are more prone within an enclosed space.

05.01.2022 At Goodstart Dalby, we believe in giving our children the opportunity to learn, grow and meet their developmental milestones! In our Toddler Room, our children have been working on their fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination and self-help skills. Our educators have provided these opportunities through introducing the ability for our children to choose their own fruits with a pair of tongs. This experience encourages a wide variety of thinking to engage with situations... and solve problems. Each day our children are becoming more confident as they adapt strategies to successfully collect and transfer the fruit between bowls. Our educators will continue to extend on this focus through implementing new challenges for your little ones to explore!
