09.01.2022 In kindergarten we have been building our sense of agency and connectedness to our environment through collaborative conversations. After conversing with the children about how they felt about the role play space the educators used brain mapping to document the childrens voice and ideas building their sense of belonging and encouraging them to take turns and show respect for the listener. The children then were encouraged to vote on what they would like to turn the role pl...ay space into using mathematical tallying to document the votes in their floor book. They used their fine motor abilities to draw their ideas and plans on the paper and portray their ideas to their educator. When the children came in on Monday they were so surprised to see the home corner moved around and something piled up on the floor. " We are making a tent" the children said excitedly Together with the educators the children collected the materials and helped the educators build the fire place and tent area. We are going to continue learning and developing our understanding of camping using visuals and language opportunities. See more
