24.01.2022 Social Media warning as graphic video circulates We’re being warned about a disturbing video that’s being shared on Social Media. The clip, that’s now been seen across popular sites Tik Tok, Facebook and Instagram, shows a man taking his own life.... The video is being actively suggested and shown online without warning. Social media companies are struggling to remove the content. Cyber safety expert Susan McLean said the video is also being edited to hide within other clips. #PuttingChildrenFirst #ChildProtectionWeek #goodstartchildprotection

We, along with all Early Childhood Centres have had a particularly tough and uncertain year but each day we have seen the Educators continue to provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment for children. ... This is not always an easy thing to do and often needs support from the Educators to navigate the social 'rules' of play. 16.01.2022 Let’s get physical... This weeks goodmovers activities saw the children crawl, stomp and roll their way through the story ‘Were going on a bear hunt ’ which included a very squelch stomping through mud!

Physical activity provides children with many health and developmental benefits including healthy body weight, improved bone health and cardiovascular fitness, and enhanced cognitive, emotional and psychosocial development. It is important to establish healthy physical activity and sedentary behaviour habits early in life. At Goodstart Eaton we provide opportunity for physical play in both the indoor and outdoor environment through planned and spontaneous experiences.

04.01.2022 This week within the Goodmovers Program the children were encourage to explore and engage within their social and physical environment. The children worked in groups playing and responding to their peers and extending their friendships, while also challenging themselves to explore gross motor movement through complex dance and movement.

04.01.2022 The Children in our Pre-Kindy & Kindy Rooms help to set up and pack away after their meal times. Meal times throughout the day are a social time where the Educators take the time to interact, engage and discuss so many things, from the food the children are eating, to what they have done with friends and families. We treasure these times as valuable moments to learn about each child and what interests them.

03.01.2022 NAIDOC Week 2020 Throughout this week the children and Educators have been participating in a range of experiences to celebrate and explore NAIDOC week. Always Was, Always Will Be. recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.... Goodstart Eaton has a published Reconciliation Action Plan which is supporting us to enhance our own understanding and journey and we are excited to see this learning of culture being represented more consistently within our curriculums and across the Centre.

03.01.2022 Does this fit? There are so many opportunities for learning through play. Exploring the stacking blocks offers opportunity to develop hand-eye coordination; cognitive recall and trial and error, just to name some of the skills the children are learning. The opportunity for learning in play is only as limited as our imagination.

01.01.2022 Goodies Award Night Last night the Educators at Goodstart Eaton logged on to view the WA Goodies award Night! Although the event was online we were all very excited to be finalist in the category for Safety & Well-being. ... Given the challenges we have seen throughout 2020 we are so excited to be recognised for the hard work and dedication the Educators have put in and we are looking forward to continued success into 2021.
