22.01.2022 Next Wednesday 2 September is Early Childhood Educators' Day! This year it coincides with the start of spring and we thought what better way to celebrate than ...to say it with flowers! We are calling on our families to help fill our centres with greenery on this important day! It doesn’t matter whether you bring a plant from a shop, something from your garden or even a sneaky snip from the side of the road it will surely put a smile on the faces of our well-deserving teams! We worked together in pulling the weeds out from the garden and engage in discussion about how we look after the environment. The children we able to explore their sensory capabilities by smelling the different herbs we have growing ( mint and rosemary ) and make some suggestions about what we should put in the garden next . Taking this interest inside the children used... their fine motor skills to use stickers to make a garden onto paper plates. It was quiet tricky to pull the back of the paper off and coordination their fingers to stick on to the plate. The children we excited to see different shapes flowers and materials to place on their plates. We have a developing display with all the different ways to create and explain their though their eye what a garden meander to them .
