24.01.2022 How fabulous ......Our Kindy children were asked to make the wooden spoons for a local Greek community club who hosted a fundraising Trivia night. All proceeds from the night went to Childhood Cancer. 19.01.2022 Hello, I am Asma Hasan. I am from Pakistan and have graduated from a Master in Physics from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad Pakistan. Once this was completed I began teaching Physics to secondary year students until we migrated to Australia in 2014. Having young children of my own, I began to develop an interest in Early childhood development, so while my family were settling in to their new life in Adelaide, I began to study my Diploma of Early Childhood Education. During ...my placement, I realised that working in early childhood was where I wanted to be as I thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment. I began working for Goodstart ELC in 2016 as a Qualified educator, mainly in the Toddler room. Keen on developing my professional career I began studying my Masters of Teaching in Early Childhood from January 2018 as a part time student. This has strengthened my passion for achieving my goal of graduating as an early Childhood teacher and contributing positively to the learning and development of children in the important first years. 18.01.2022 So we have had a mini break from posting about staff this week but who better to get the ball rolling again than our Wonderful Pre kindy Team Member Tania....... Hi my name is Tania and I have been with GoodStart Glenelg for over 8 years now. I have been in the industry for 18 years as I always knew that I wanted to work with children. My first work experience when I was in high school at a childcare taught me more than what I was expecting. I caught the chicken pox and this ...where I realised that I was going to enter this career warts and all. I finished my diploma in childrens services and got that all important certificate in 2001. I have had a few different jobs and roles working in child care with all different age groups as well as a nanny overseas for 3/12 years. Most of you know that I have just returned back to work after having my second baby Kobe (6months old) as well as having Kelsey (2 1/2 years old) who both come to work with me. So if you see me looking tired thats why. I have taken this year off from my studies which I have nearly finished, studying my Bachelor of Early Childhood education and arts at Flinders university, But For now I am concentrating on being a mum and working part time. Now it is time to restart our Staff Bios, (since they are all coming back from their holidays ) Hi, my name is Megan, but most people call me Megs or even Megsy! I first began at the centre back in 2002 with my 10-month-old boy in tow. This was when we were known as Pebbles. I learnt a lot in those first 8 years and thoroughly enjoyed my time at the centre, even the transiti...on from Pebbles to ABC. I left in 2010 as I decided to embark on a new challenge and begin a family day care business. This was extremely challenging and rewarding but eventually I realised that I missed the interactions with the other educator so I decided to return to Centre based care. I re-joined Glenelg in the nursery room, once it had transition to Goodstart Early learning and have never looked back as I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the nursery, especially watching these little people form their own personalities and preferences and grow into confident young adults I still find it hard to believe that some of my early babies are now at university, driving cars and have part-time jobs! 05.01.2022 Hello My name is Sasha. I am also known as Sasha Basha and/or Sasha Darling. This originated from my time working in the Kindy room. I used to rhyme Childrens names so they decided to rhyme my name, just proves how clever children are The nicknames have stuck and it actually warms my heart to have that special bond. Soto begin.. I started working at Goodstart Glenelg 12 years ago. I took on the role as centre cook which allowed me to support my now nearly 18 (!!!!) year ...old daughter while she was at primary school. I did this for 5 years and I thoroughly enjoyed designing a healthy menu, but each year I was drawn into the rewarding relationships my co-workers were developing with the children. I wanted to be involved with their learning journeys and help nurture their curiosity too, so I decided to apply for the position of educator when it became available. I am currently a permanent member of the Toddler room and each day I have the opportunity to inspire the children to learn. I take great pride in educating each child about Aboriginal culture, the world we live, science and creative expression, but I do have a soft spot for cooking so I try to ensure the children are exposed to cooking experiences regularly. As most of you know I have a 4 year old boy named Charlie in the Kindy room and I have just started studying my diploma in Childrens services so life is very busy, hectic and challenging but above all extremely fulfilling and I wouldnt have it any other way. My baby Alfie started this week tears, nervous rashes, sleepless nights, anxiety through the roof and that was jus...t me not being able to let go! He was absolutely fine! Like a lot of modern day fambams, my husband and I both have our own businesses and have negotiated our way through juggling being parents and working same time. So, from early on our babies both went to Goodstart Early Learning for two days a week. I really feel like this gave my kids the confidence to communicate with people of all ages and to walk into a group of kids theyve never met, and very quickly, find their place.
