07.01.2022 As many of you are aware Mother’s Day is fast approaching. Usually we would host a Mother’s Day morning tea, as this is not possible at this stage we will be hosting an online baking challenge. This challenge is to work as a family to bake something special, take some photos and email them to the centre by Thursday 7th May. Happy baking!!

03.01.2022 It’s that time of the year again!! We are hosting our annual Scholastic Book Fair. This year due to social distancing we will be hosting a virtual book fair. 03.01.2022 This week at Goodstart Lavington we have been exploring this year’s NAIDOC theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’. We shared our Acknowledgement of Country’s with our families as well as some history about the Wiradjuri peoples and explored our own shared understanding of the land on which we meet. Our cook has been providing some Indigenous inspired meals, and we have been engaging in ‘online learning’ to extend our knowledge as we watched an NGV webinar designed for 2-5 year olds.

02.01.2022 A big thank you to our families who came to our Toddler Information night, focused on the importance of language and literacy in the early years. We had some of our borrowing library literacy packs set up for families to see the variety of story packs we have available on a regular basis.

They’ve learnt that stories have a beginning, a middle and an end. They’ve been re-enacting their favourites as well as writing and illustrating their very own stories. ... Storytelling is an important way children can channel their thoughts and ideas. It can help them work through a question or query they may have as well as allow them to connect with their peers through collaboration. See more
