25.01.2022 Toddlers delight in magic In the Toddler’s room, a recent experiment saw some magic results. With different items hidden inside, the ice cubes were put out with paint brushes for us to discover. Lentils, coloured rice, rosemary, sequins and more, we slowly watched the ice blocks melt away to reveal the magic.

23.01.2022 We had an opportunity to monitor our little friend that we found in our backyard. We developed a greater understanding and appreciation of the natural world.

18.01.2022 Lots to see, touch, and explore. Natural items give the children unlimited ways to explore and investigate.

18.01.2022 Our toddlers joined in with Remembrance Day by creating a poster of poppies. Together they work as a collaboration, scrunching and manipulating red crepe paper and sticking it on the card. As a finishing touch we added Rosemary from our garden. We also played The Last Post at 11am, and our Toddlers participated in a minute silence.

17.01.2022 Moustaches for a cause. Movember is all about bringing back moustaches, having fun and doing it for a serious cause; men’s health awareness. We created our own moustaches to discover and learn about the cause in a child friendly way.

13.01.2022 The children's ongoing interest in hairdressing lead us to plan for a crazy hair day where we learn all about the different types of hair, and how we can care for our hair. We set up a hairdressing corner in the yard and did each other's hair.

12.01.2022 We recently visited our center chickens to feed them our afternoon tea scraps. They were happy to see us as we served out their food. We were delighted to see they had laid an egg for us which we happily collected. We love checking on our chickens, and it helps to teach us to care for animals on a daily basis.

11.01.2022 To celebrate Melbourne Cup day, we had our very own horse race in the Kindy backyard!

11.01.2022 Yummy food celebrating Diwali We loved celebrating Diwali as a whole centre. We were lucky enough to have a traditional Indian Butter Chicken for lunch. We also made lanterns, and Shilpa made Rangoli design for our foyer to bring us all good luck.

07.01.2022 An obstacle course develops balance, locomotor and manipulative skills. It also allows the Nursery children to improve their bodily and spatial awareness.

05.01.2022 Last week the children made little chocolate balls for their afternoon tea. Making food that they will later eat is always a meaningful experience that the children enjoy. We read the recipe list together and measured the ingredients that we stirred into the ball. This promotes pre numeracy, team work skills and fine motor skills that the children will need later on in their life.

03.01.2022 NAIDOC Week NAIDOC week is acknowledged in the Nursery room by children engaging in the different experiences. This helps support awareness and education of the indigenous Australian culture.

03.01.2022 Today we celebrated NAIDOC here at Mount Nasura with our annual camp fire and sausage sizzle and also included a sing along around the camp fire of traditional songs
