13.01.2022 Excursions - They expose a child to a range of different experiences and enable them to gain a sense of the world in which they find themselves. Excursions encourage a child to embrace the unfamiliar and often every sense is employed in observing and understanding what they're experiencing. #capablelittleexplorersguidedbykindness Special thanks to Miss Lauren for going above and beyond to make this happen! #covidsafeplanning #GoodstartNundah #limitedFridaybookingsavailable

11.01.2022 #theartofpedagogy #holidayprogram #clay Vygotsky created the concept of the zone of proximal development, often abbreviated as ZPD, which came to be a central part of his theory. Language is the way that a child communicates with others after they are born and they continue to learn by interacting with those around them. Building on his idea of social interaction as the basis for learning, he broached the value of a mentor or teacher in the life of a student.

08.01.2022 Playing with light and reflection provides the perfect opportunity for magical experiences to be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Light and darkness hold fascination and intrigue, as well as an element of risk and challenge. Exploring light and shadow enables children to appreciate the awe and wonder of the world around them and provides an environment where children can develop their natural curiosity. 01.01.2022 The art of Pedagogy This year has offered us a large amount of reflection so lets focus where it matters and reimagine what’s possible At Goodstart Nundah we discovered just how important our holiday programs are they allow us to express, learn and grow. With so much happening this year we have decided at Goodstart Nundah that this is the time to review our Centre Vision and Centre Philosophy. The wonderful team of Goodstart Nundah put on their thinking caps (with a little ...help from our PL Cassie B ) and reflected upon their own personal philosophies and who their Guiding theorists are. Theorists: Child development theories focus on explaining how children change and grow over the course of childhood. Such theories center on various aspects of development including social, emotional, and cognitive growth. The study of human development is a rich and varied subject. From the reflection and sharing of our personal philosophies we strength our service commitment of OHANA. Let us share with you why we do what we do! As a centre Director I always reflect that without my Educators I do not have a Team My Team makes this centre and all the beauty it has on offer for our children and families.
