20.01.2022 How I work with families: Since starting my business I have received many questions about what a sleep consultant does. And to be fair if you have never needed... a sleep consultant nor never researched about their work it could be open to interpretation. So what do I do? I give families solutions for their children aged between 3 weeks - 4 years in regards to their sleep challenges. I can cover challenges listed below (but not limited to): -early morning wake ups -cat napping - night time wake ups - day and night confusion - newborn - settling challenges - re settling challenges - over tiredness - toddler challenges - bed time refusal A family will come to me with one or more of the above challenges that they wish to overcome. Collaboratively with parents I will develop solutions so the family can feel most at ease with what is expected. To so this I will ask a series of questions about the child, the childs and parents routine and how the parents currently respond and what have they already put forward to help the issue. This will ensure that I see the big picture of the families lifestyle and can put together solutions that will benefit the family and work for them in the long run and also not make suggestions that they have already tried and didnt work. From here I will develop a in depth and personalised plan that will work for the household. This plan will cover goals for the child and family and step on how to get there. With all these steps that I provide I explain the scientific backing as to why and how these changes can be made and i promise to no give advice "Just because it works." I provide honest content so families can understand why sleep is all connected and what we might expect as the child gets older. I then work with families for 2 weeks offering support and guidance . I am available to answer any questions the family might have along the way and I have the flexibility to make any changes to the steps in the plan if it doesnt work well for the family or the child. Why 2 weeks? Now 2 weeks seems like a long time to constantly make changes to a child sleep - and yes it is. In most cases the child and family will see most goals fall into place between 2-7 days. I provide the 2 weeks of support so the family will have the tools they require to ensure it can be a consistent change. If a family chooses to go with a very gentle approach this will give us more time to go through each step with care and my guidance. And I am here to be your number one cheerleader. What happens after the 2 weeks? At the end of the 2 weeks I will go through with the family the initial goals and the progress that we made and how they feel about where they are. If we want to extend on these goals more time can be given to get there and if a family followed a gentle approach I can provide an extra week or 2 with my full support. The 2 weeks can also be extended if we made ongoing changes and providing extra time with family will ensure consistency. My biggest goal for all families is that by the end they feel comfortable and content with happen is happening in their home. I will check up on families in the following months as the child is growing and provide some time to answer any general questions they may have about their childs sleep. Now I am NOT a medical professional so I am unable to diagnose or make referrals. I have been given information in my training to recognise red flags in childrens sleep or behaviour and am happy to answer any questions a family might have about these to the best of my ability. If you have any questions please comment below or if you wish to work together please inbox me and we will see if we are a good match to work together. Happy sleeping Eliza xx

20.01.2022 Happy Birthday gorgeous Miss Chelsea- we hope you have the most amazing day!

19.01.2022 Christmas in July at Goodstart Stafford.....

19.01.2022 We think its safe to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. For the world, for Australia and for our Goodstart team. Over the past few months people, ...families and communities have been tried and tested in the most extraordinary ways. As frontline essential workers our Goodstarters rose to this challenge, stepping up to support our 60,000 families and 71,000 children through some incredibly challenging times. So weve declared this week Thank You Week! A week to celebrate and recognise our 10,000+ Goodstarters for continuing to go above and beyond in face of adversity. We have a few special surprises planned for our Goodstarters this week, but in the meantime wed love for our Goodstart families to get involved too! Please share your messages of thanks and support below and tag an educator or a centre who has really made a difference. #ThankYouWeek #InThisTogether

16.01.2022 What is Holi? Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates spring, love, and new life. Some families hold religious ceremonies, but for many Holi is more a time for fun. It's a colourful festival, with dancing, singing and throwing of powder paint and coloured water. Holi is also known as the "festival of colours".

13.01.2022 We've been getting this question a lot The answer is yes We're asking you to wear a mask in the car because a consistent approach helps keep people safe. We... want you to wear a mask when you leave home - by whatever means, for whatever reason. Walk, drive or cycle - put a mask on when you leave home and keep it on, unless you're taking it off for an allowed purpose. If everyone in Greater Brisbane gets in the habit of putting a mask on whenever they leave home, we're more likely to keep it on - and that's the thing that will help keep people safe and reduce the likelihood of a longer lockdown.

13.01.2022 Thank you Mary, Yogeeta, Goretti, Malvika, Jasbir, and Megha for sharing your culture with the educators and children. What a wonderful celebration.

09.01.2022 Hanging up the washing- manipulating and pinching the pegs are great for working those fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. It also provides the opportunity for children to identify with the adult world and practice and role play their understanding and interpretation. It also helps with social skills, negotiation skills, turn taking and sharing.
