23.01.2022 In our Pre-Kinder and Kinder yard the children have been working together to grow some herbs to be used in our kitchen. The children show excitement over sharing the responsibility of watering and caring for the herbs. This helps the children develop a sense of responsibility as well as encouraging healthy eating, starting the conversation about food and which foods are good for our bodies. We currently have mint, thyme, chives, oregano, rosemary and parsley. In a separate planter box the children have planted an apple tree and soon to be planting some onions.

19.01.2022 Tea anyone? This week the kindergarten children have taken part in a new ritual during quiet time. The tea ritual was implemented to provoke the senses, conversations and meaningful relationships. Today‘s conversation was based on seasonal fruits and what the taste of the tea reminded us of.

18.01.2022 Counting is fun! A childs first years are a time of rapid learning. Developing numeracy skills early gives children a foundation for their learning and development. We will be adding uniforms to help develop the children’s self help and daily life skills.

02.01.2022 This is the wonderful feelings space in our toddler room. This space is complete with books about emotions, a chart visually showing various emotions, a mirror for the children to imitate and some minimalist dolls that are hand made by our toddler room leader Annette. These minimalist dolls encourage the children to use their imagination through play, leaving the ideas endless by not being gender specific. The children in the toddler room have really shown an interest in reaching out for this calm and quiet space when theyre feeling in need of some rest time and even to quietly play and read with their dolls.
