25.01.2022 One of the greatest benefits to sleeping outdoors is the increased brain activity which allows children to be happier , have better concentration, and an improved memory.

25.01.2022 Our experienced teachers here at Griffin make learning visual to children, families and colleagues. So why is visual documentation of learning valuable???? By providing evidence of the children's learning in all areas of the child's development through photographs, transcripts of conversations and artifacts of their work displayed, we can visibly see the learning process.... Sending a clear message to all that... Learning is purposeful Learning is social Learning is representational Learning is empowering Learning is emotional Please take time to appreciate this engaging documentation throughout the service.

25.01.2022 Children are born curious. They love to learn about new concepts and approach the natural world with wonder and awe. 20.01.2022 CREATIVE EXPRESSION!!! It’s all about learning to express ourselves through different avenues in the Kindy room. Creative expression provides opportunities for children at Griffin to try out new ideas, develop their imaginations and problem-solving skills and see what happens as a result of their experimentation. It helps them work out what it is that they love doing best and it teaches them that their abilities and their contributions are highly valued.... This creative experience supported the kindy children to express their experiences and emotions through communicative avenues other than verbal. Helping to develop self-confidence, communication skills and a sense of identity while supporting them to cope with their feelings.

20.01.2022 Children at Green Leaves Griffin are exploring light and shadows. Using a touch as a learning resource we encouraged children to freely explore objects and their shadows. They began experimenting with the touch using shapes to make shadows appear on the wall. They also made use of blocks to create colourful shapes. ... To advance their inquiry, Brittney asked questions like, What do you notice? How did you do that? The children continued experimenting by moving objects around. Some spent a great deal of time manipulating objects and observing their results. They found that turning an object changed the shape of its shadow, and they detected differences in size when shapes were moved closer to and further away from the light as they traces around the outlines of each shadow created. Keep posted as this inquiry continues, next we might head outside to find shadows. I wonder what we will discover.
