24.01.2022 It is hard to believe that a new financial year is nearly here! Which means, its time to update your family income estimate if you get Family Tax Benefit (FTB) or Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for 2020-21. Updating your income estimate will help make sure you get the right amount of FTB and CCS. Even though you wont pay child care fees until the end of June, you still need to update this information. If you get JobSeeker Payment, Coronavirus Supplement, or JobKeeper Payment yo...ull need to include them in your family income estimate as theyre taxable payments. The $750 Economic Support Payment is not taxable and should not be included in your estimate. The easiest way to update your family income estimate is online using either your Centrelink online account through myGov or Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. Read more about this here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//update-your-family-i

24.01.2022 IF YOU WILL NEED US WHEN THIS PANDEMIC IS OVER, THEN WE NEED YOU NOW! Important message for those who have children enrolled in an early learning or child care centre. DONT UN-ENROL them to save money. Theres actually financial support you can receive... There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment and so many people are losing their jobs, please dont add your childs educators to that list.... Talk to your centre/educator first. There are a number of things in place from services as well as the government to help families and to stop child care services from going bankrupt but these measures are only helpful if the children STAY ENROLLED. Firstly, if you or your partner has lost their job or had your wages cut, you can go on to your MyGov page and apply for temporary financial hardship. This means that the government may pay your childcare fees in FULL for 13 weeks. There are also increased allowable absences available to families as well as extended periods for discounted rates! The government has also committed to paying the CCS portion of the fees in the event that the services do go in to lock down. What this means for services is that we can keep paying our educators, our rent, etc etc etc. It means that at the end of all of this, there will be services (FDC services and centres) to send your children to. Speak to your Centre Director and Family Day Care Educator. Find out your options, BEFORE just pulling your children out. https://mobile.abc.net.au//childcare-coronavirus/12105704

22.01.2022 The Federal Government has signaled that it is thinking seriously about ending free child care very soon. Our friends over at The Parenthood are keen to understand what this decision might mean for families with children in early learning and care all over Australia. If you can please spare 5 minutes to take their short confidential survey.

21.01.2022 Happy Easter to all our families and friends. Although your celebrations may be a little different this year we hope you have a very special day with each other.

20.01.2022 Hi everyone. Bit of good news for your Sunday morning. Because of our high rates of testing and our low levels of community transmission, were now able to pla...n for the coming weeks and getting back to a few more of the things everyones been missing. From 11.59pm on 31 May, well be increasing gathering limits to 20 people and allowing overnight stays. That means you can sleep over at a mates or rent somewhere for a weekend away. And more community facilities and businesses will be able to reopen including places like libraries, community centres, beauty therapy and tattoo studios. As with everything, these changes come with strict rules around distancing, density and hygiene. The contact details of customers and people using the facilities will also need to be recorded to allow tracing. Im sure people will have questions about why X is allowed if you cant do Y but this really isnt an exercise in whataboutery. Weve had to make some tough calls. We cant just open the floodgates on everything all at once, and risk throwing away all our hard work. I hope people appreciate this point. We have to be cautious and careful. Then, if it all goes to plan and were tracking okay with case numbers, well be able to make some more changes a bit later in the month. From 11.59pm on 21 June, that would include reopening gyms, indoor sports facilities, movie theatres and the snow season will be able to kick off. And finally, a message to all our employers out there. I really need your help on this one. I appreciate this isnt possible for all workplaces. But if your staff are able to work from home, and have been doing so we need to keep that going. We simply cant have thousands of people on trains and trams let alone the logistical challenges of communal kitchens, lifts and big office buildings. I know Ive said this before, but as we all have more choices and more options, its even more important: Just because you can do something, doesnt mean you should race out and do it. Weve come so far and its up to all of us to make this work.

19.01.2022 As COVID-19 continues to evolve we know many families are growing increasingly concerned about their family situation. Did you know if you are experiencing financial hardship and you need some help paying your child care fees, you may be eligible for Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) Temporary Financial Hardship? If your income has been reduced because you have lost your job, you are caring for a seriously ill family member or have recently lost a family member you may be eligible. 13.01.2022 * IMPORTANT INFORMATION * Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the free childcare package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return from 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo!

There has been so much information on the news regarding schools, shops etc - at the present time we are open, as per normal operating hours, until we are directed by Goodstart or State or Federal Govts to do otherwise. Please keep calm and be kind to yourself and each other during these difficult times. ... If you have any concerns please contact us.
