25.01.2022 Day 4 report What a day! The team was up early and off to the track by 7:30 to get our team manager and our drivers to their early drivers briefing at 8:30. Upon being informed the 2 attempt sessions would be combined into one 4 hour session, the team knew they had a big day ahead. ... For our first attempt of the day we lowered our maximum speed. As well as changing our on track driving strategy. Only to have incharge stop on the hill. We took incharge back in and diagnosed the problem and decided to revert back to our original driving strategy and swapped our drive system to another drive system. Then we where informed we where able to have another 3 attempts which was a great relief as we could trial more adjustments. Our second attempt was more successful with a 284km per kilowatt hour. After frantically charging the batteries one more time for our final attempt. We bumped our maximum speed down once more time. We completed our final run to move into 5th place with a final result of 284.4 km per kilowatt hour. We were all beyond words with the pride and relief we were all feeling. The day ended with a large awards ceremony. Whilst we didn't win anything or podium we congratulate the teams who did. The day ended in another delicious buffet dinner and a swim in the pool. The team is looking forward to being able to sleep in and sight see tomorrow more of beautiful Malaysia tomorrow. Whilst awards and prizes are a great achievement, we as a team will take away from the event all the experiences we have learnt, the friendships made, and the countless comments and praises we have been given by other teams, officials, visitors about Incharge and our team. We are all incredibly proud of our achievements for "just a bunch of high school students"

21.01.2022 Technical Inspection

19.01.2022 Day 2 report The team had their work cut out for them straight away with a few things needing to be fixed and added to pass technical inspection. The team added a new guard to protect the belt drive system as well as creating a new system to protect the batteries. The team then entered the final part of technical inspection and flew through with flying colours with the technical inspectors being thoroughly impressed with our drivers capabilities ... Then we entered the final practice session (after our drivers got a guided tour around the course as we missed the track walk on Sunday). In charge was finally out on track. We where nervous that incharge wouldn't make it over the hill but it flew up the hill. We had a minor issue with the drivers display screen coming unplugged but we quickly swapped the cable as well as installing a new horn that is louder and lighter (due to some issues with reliability). Then we completed practice and waited for our first attempt We started our first attempt strong with Emma having incredibly smooth and consistent lap timing. We where going so strong till a software issue stopped Incharge 300m from the finish. We will learn from this and come back even stronger tomorrow. We then checked over the trike and got it working and will do a full strip down tomorrow before our second attempt. We will not let this setback disheartened us and focus on results. The team then headed back to the hotel and gorged themselves on a all you can eat buffet with a few members eating a bit more than all you can eat and some selecting strange food choices.... The night was finished up with a swim in the pool with more than a couple of water fights. Stay tuned for news on tomorrow

19.01.2022 Day 3 report The day started with a full strip down of Incharge to ensure everything was running perfectly. After all the boxes where ticked on our own personal checklist it became the waiting game and trying our best to stay out of the heat whilst waiting for our first attempt session of the day at 2:30. As well as filming with the talented team from Shell. Emma was in first. Then she went on to excel and complete our first successful attempt. She put us into 6th with a resu...lt of 229.9 km per kilowatt hour. The team was incrediblely relived and elated with the success. Following with the trend of all the previous days our team spent much of our time in pits answering questions from other teams to do with Incharge. Each and every one of them had admiration for Incharge and the teams work. High praise for a team of high school students competing against some of the world's leading enginering students. Jess was in for the second session at 6pm. She was (as like Emma) consistently smooth around the track and for our second attempt of the day. She continued to show how capable she and Emma are as drivers finishing with a 10% increase of efficiency placing us with a new best result of 248.9 km per kilowatt hour. We finished the day still sitting in sixth in our category but we are quietly confident with some modifications to Incharge and on track strategy that tomorrow we will be able to come out with a top five result. The next position is in striking distance being only 3km further than us. The day ended again with dinner and a relaxing swim in the pool

10.01.2022 First big session of the school year, with the electrical team working on their BMS boards and working out our final first round testing date. With more new students joining our team for this year we are looking ready for our upcoming year.

08.01.2022 Today, the team had another testing session at Tom Flood. Though there were some issues, we are aiming to test again soon to make sure that they are fixed and ready to go.

07.01.2022 Day 0 The team flew out from Melbourne airport to a stopover in Singapore then on to Kuala Lumpur! After a few minor hiccups (landing at the wrong terminal and delayed fight) The team was pleasantly surprised to find a five star hotel at the end of their flight and passed out promptly!

07.01.2022 Day 1 The team started the day with breakfast of champions (all you can eat buffet)! Then a bus transit to sepang international circuit. We made it through registeration smoothly (despite sweating buckets in the sweltering humidity). Then we moved on to our pit in the paddock to find our crate waiting for us. The team promptly worked together to remove the crates lid and there was a collective sigh of relief when the trike was seen to be undamaged. ... The team proceeded to reassemble Incharge with each student playing their role. How ever once we had reassembled, connected and tested the electronics when we went to install the batteries the system malfunctioned and the teams morale dropped. For the next hour and a half the team where put under the pressure with continuing to reassemble Incharge whilst dealing with a media crew and fixing the electronics to get through technical inspection. The electrical team performed and gave the results and showed why we (a school team) can compete on an international level against top universities. They managed under great stress, media and limited supplies to fix and get the system up and running. Our team was later in the day chosen to be in the flag off parade to open the event. Whilst transporting our trike through the paddock there where many photos taken and questioned by other teams in admiration. We entered technical inspection late due to a large waiting list of other teams. However we ran out of time to finish the inspection and will return and finish it tomorrow morning before practice. More photos to come
