23.01.2022 The children in the Centre have been busy creating artwork for the Children's Artwork Exhibition as part of National Children's Week 2020. Their amazing creations can be viewed at Karama Library between 24 October and 29 November. We hope you enjoy them as much as what the children did in making them!

22.01.2022 Fathers Day is on Sunday 6 September and Goodstart@Home has some great ideas for families who are looking for a gift thats from the heart. One of the Fathers Day activities for 3-5 year olds is Building a Memory Jar. We would love to see some photos or videos of memory jars being created for the special Dads (and other males!) of the children at our centre! Other lovely activity ideas are a Do you know how much I love you? photo book for babies, or for toddlers; creati...ng a Helping hand book of coupons for help getting things done around the house or garden. 20.01.2022 Hi Goodstart families! As you know the Government announced today that the 'free childcare' package will expire on 12 July and that the CCS system will return f...rom 13 July, along with new transition measures (up until October) to support the sector and parents as they move back to the subsidy. This announcement is a little bit complex so we are working hard to understand what this means for our families and for Goodstart. We will provide an update to our centres and our families later today and over the coming days as we learn more. #5weekstogo! See more

We are calling on our families to help fill our centres with greenery on this important day! 20.01.2022 In recognition of National Aborginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day, this week the children have explored Dream Time stories as well as the art of Indigenous dancing and painting. Recognising that different symbols within the pieces of Indigenous paintings reflect specific and significant objects, we chose to create our own piece that we felt incorporated symbols that reflect us and the animals found in the environment around us.

18.01.2022 Last Tuesday our Toddler room celebrated the Tamil New Year. Miss Bhanu brought in bangles, bindis, sarees and sarongs for the children to dress up in an Indian tradition. The bindi represents good luck. This is a good opportunity for children to participate and learn about other cultures. Throughout the year the Centre will be participating in other traditions and events, so please let us if there is one you would like to see

06.01.2022 Its Dental Hygiene Week this week (3 9 August), so weve created some fun activities you can do with your toddlers to encourage them to brush their teeth on our Goodstart@Home website. These activities are easy to do and a great way to support the development and understanding of dental hygiene and teeth brushing techniques. This years Dental Hygiene Week theme is all about sugar and How much sugar is hiding is your trolley? Wed like to encourage families to be mindful... of hidden sugars in food. Making healthy choices at the supermarket extends to making similar smart food and drink choices at home. Early childhood tooth decay can affect your childs health and cause pain, making it hard for your child to sleep, eat or speak. It can also affect your childs ability to concentrate and learn. Children who develop dental decay at an early age are more likely to suffer from it throughout childhood.
