20.01.2022 Good Morning All, I would like to take a moment to clear up some confusion concerning the Licence Postal Outlet. We are NOT closing the Postal Outlet, we ARE closing the Store. We will sell our Postal Outlet Contact to another party. The Town is not losing its Postal Outlet. It is our Contract to sell and we will make the best possible choice with not only our needs but those of the Community in mind. To the person or persons misinforming Australia Post of our intentions ..... We are in constant contact with Australia Post and they are aware of the situation and are supporting the our choices and the needs of the community. Goolgowi General Store is comprised of 3 separate Businesses, The Store, The Postal Outlet and the Mail Run. We at this stage are Closing the Store and Selling our other Business, the Postal Outlet. We will look at all interested parties and sell it on to who we feel suits the communities needs best.

06.01.2022 Good Morning All, It is with such a heavy heart that I have to write this post, and both Mike and I have been holding off as long as we could to do so. To some this is of no surprise to others it will be ...... Looking forward Mike and I are in the process of making the heartbreaking decision to Close the Store permanently. We expect this to occur around Christmas New Years Time and we don't do this lightly. Over the last 2 1/2 years we have fought to keep the Store open but mentally, emotionally, physically and financially we are exhausted. We came to this Town, Store and Community with nothing but Goodwill and the desire to raise our Family in a small community and being able to support our Family. We knew we would never "Get Rich" but it has come the the point that the Daily Running Cost are no longer being covered let alone being able to replenish the Store. Some of this is very much due to our naivety (not realizing the importance of the Mail Run Contract and its importance to the Economy of the Store, the journey has been steep in learning), but it is also a decline in Trade and Environmental Issues. Increasingly our core Customers are that of Travelers and there is simply not enough Tourism in Goolgowi to rely on that. Licence Postal Outlet at this stage we are not 100% sure on what will be happening, but as we work it out we will keep you informed. Newspapers the same will occur. This is a very hard and scary decision, but I can not Thank You all enough for the journey that it has been. Our Family has been blessed by the experience, but now we need to put our Family, Health both Mental and Physical and Financial well being before that of the Community. Please know we have fought long and hard and way longer than we should of .. but unless a miracle occurs the Store will start winding down even further. Mike & Serena
