16.01.2022 Greetings from the Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod Committee. After discussions with the Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod committee during the weekend, the committee decided to cancel the 2020 August Eisteddfod. It is with deep regret that the committee has come to this decision but with so many uncertainties regarding health and travel restrictions and numbers at gatherings, we thought it wise to go down this path. Time is also against us as entries close on 5th May, the program is d...ue in Toowoomba for printing at the end of May and then ready for distribution early in July. Also, time for the students and competitors to be fully prepared in time for an August eisteddfod was a consideration. One of our adjudicators and many students are from interstate and they must be considered. You are all our priority regarding health and travel issues. Please do not dispose of your 2020 schedule as the 2021 schedule will be the same as the 2020 schedule. The set pieces for piano, choral and speech and drama will remain the same. The only changes will be to the dance schedule. Instead of a waltz tap division and a speed tap division, the schedule will revert to Tap (Any Style). The schedule and entry forms will be available at www.gae.org.au early in the new year. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I am so sorry that the eisteddfod has been cancelled but we will be back again next year. The 2021 Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod will be held from 2nd to 7th August. These are uncertain times, but they will come to pass. Judy Dunlop Secretary PS If you have an eisteddfod trophy from 2019, could you please return it the committee by 31st October 2020?

10.01.2022 Good morning from the Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod Committee. The committee held a meeting last Wednesday evening, and decided that at the moment we will proceed with organizing the 2020 eisteddfod. However, the committee will meet again on 28th April to decide whether to continue with, postpone or cancel the eisteddfod. We will follow national advice as the health of our volunteers, competitors and families is our number one priority. These are uncertain times but they will come to pass. Now is the time to be patient and diligent in our health practices. If the committee continues with the eisteddfod, entries will close on 5th May. Any entry money that is received prior to that time will be refunded. Thank you for your pateince and understanding.
